When Party Chairman Khrushchev and President Bulganin set sail to visit a Western democracy, wheels are set in motion on a conspiracy dealing with kidnapping, extortion, political assassination, and possibly World War III
A fun old school Cold War thriller set, mostly, in London during Nikita Khrushchev's state visit in 1956. There are some nice action scenes, a little intrigue, and a swell romance. It reads something like a Jack Higgins' thriller, the stuff he was writing in the 1980s, but without Higgins' larger-than-life flare.
