Amazing how many ways there are to say the simple 'I Love You'; well, there are many examples within the pages of this charming little offering. Many writers express their devotion from Kafka to Poe to Vita Sackville West, who writes equally charmingly to man and woman, while Napoleon bears his soul as do many others. Perhaps surprisingly the most straightforward expression of love comes from that great wordsmith George Bernard Shaw in writing to actress Ellen Terry; I wish I could have written it so lovingly to my own late wife! Again one to be dipped into whenever one fancies.
