Pooh and Piglet want an adventure and settle on hunting for colored pebbles since, "They're easier to find than heffalumps." A hole in the sock they are using to collect pebbles at first seems to ruin the fun but becomes most fortuitous due to a little twist.

This story is surprisingly cute and funny, and it actually made me chuckle out loud a couple times.

Seymour Reit's name has been added on many book sites as the author even though my copy and all the editions for which I can find title page images online do not include creator credits. But his authorship can be verified by the inclusion of this book in his collection of manuscript papers at the University of Southern Mississippi:

(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here:

I loved this book. It was pretty cute. Feels a bit random but I guess it is a kid's book. Pooh and Piglet are bored and decide to go look for pebbles (because hunting a heffalump is going to be tough). For a minute there I thought this is definitely a kids book (that sock full of rocks is not used as a weapon.)
This was a fun story about pebble hunting and it was just a random cute story.

According to my mom this was one of my favourite books as a bebe. And I get it, it's cute. Even if it seems wildly out of character for Piglet to suggest they go Hefflump hunting. I wonder if this book is why I like collecting rocks and things.

I think I'll keep this one too.

I read this as a little girl (Lydia's mom) and loved getting to read it to Lydia! My mom saved our copy, which makes it even more special!

One of my favorite board books as a child, which actually made me want to collect pebbles as a kid...but I could never find any as pretty as the ones in the book. It's a cute story that kid's are sure to love.

Winnie the Pooh and his friend Piglet go hunting for colored pebbles. They use a sock to safe keep them, but because it has a hole they lost all the pebbles. Finally, they tide a not and look for them again. Finding the pebbles make them both hungry.

This is a cute story about Piglet and Pooh. They gather beautiful pebbles, but can't find them. They realize the sock they have gathered them into has a hole in it. They then realize they are lost, but end up following the pebbles back to Pooh's home.

This was one of my favorite books when I was a kid. I read it all the time. Now my baby girl likes me to read it to her.
