I did enjoy the book. I will love to continue in the next installment. What a way to find out what your father was like. I always did enjoy vampire books.

Ok this book was really good at getting you to think. It is about a girl and her family. Her dad dies and she takes over his business. He owns antiques and displays them at different museums and stuff like that. She has to go into one of the houses he owns and keeps some of his belongings to get ready for on of their shows. There is a coffin that is shipped to america and a vampire is unleashed. He goes after the main character (Miranda) because her father is no longer alive to go after. I really can't say to much more without giving away anything. There are major twists and turns in this book. There is a lot of graphic material in this book. If you like vampire books and mysteries or thrillers this is the book for you. There isn't a lot of graphic material but there is some. The book was well written and I would like to read the second and see what happens in the next one. It ends in a cliff hanger. Great book and keeps you guessing and wanting to read.

Vampires are my favorite creatures to go bump with in the night and I like to give them all their pint of blood. I seldom put down a book about vampires halfway through, but I simply could not get into the story. The story seemed to be over told, with the use of many unnecessary words but the characters showed us nothing. It was difficult to find a clear protagonist in this piece and for me, the story did not invoke the feelings necessary for good vampire tale.
Weatherly Manor’s chilly atmosphere and hidden tomb did not give me the sense of foreboding it was meant to, nor was I able to conjure up the fear that Figgs felt. I was really reaching for the titillation of the vampire’s first bite, but it simply wasn’t there.
Sorry, I had to put this one down.

Traditional vampire story. A fun ending! Only gave it 2 stars because I didn't connect/like the characters and thereby didn't really care what the outcome was.
