Charlotte, an out-of-work actress, thought her "chance of a lifetime" had come when she found out where the well-known playwright, C. J. Lethbridge, would be writing his next play -- but, having tracked him down, she found she had been pursuing the wrong man!But Charlotte's little adventure was not such a waste of time as she had thought at first.
A convivial, pleasant story from Margaret Malcolm first published 1968, but with a late 1950s 'sweetness' vibe. I'm putting this title in the four star rating category because the hero particularly is likeable (he suffered from a stutter in his formative years and took to using his confident, handsome cousin as his front) and the tale itself relatively tightly written with no annoying loose ends stemming from the main or secondary plots.
In terms of comparable romance authors of same vintage, I'd think if you enjoy Mary Burchell or Mary Burchell then you're more than likely to find 'Star Dust' an appealing read.
