Ink Flow

All the stories in this book have few words and much ink, and were made with no preparatory sketch or planning. The best way to look at them is to keep the words as a background beat and follow the flow of the ink. These short stories make part of a series of small hand-stitched booklets (16,25cm x 12,5cm), made between 2001 and 2003. All of them belong now to private collectors. Since the support is different, the stories have been slightly changed. The English text is in many places different from the Portuguese original and the sequence of the drawings does not match exactly the content of the booklets.

About the author

Fernando Relvas, nasceu em Lisboa a 20 de Setembro de 1954, e começou a publicar os primeiros trabalhos aos 20 anos, em meados da década de 1970. Somou colaborações em várias publicações da imprensa portuguesa, nomeadamente as revistas Fungagá da Bicharada, Tintin e Mundo de Aventuras, o semanário Se7e, a revista Sábado e o Diário de Notícias.

Algumas das histórias e pranchas publicadas na imprensa foram depois reunidas em álbum, como "Karlos Starkiller", "Çufo", "Em Desgraça", "As Aventuras do Pirilau: o Nosso Primo em Bruxelas" e "L123 – seguido de Cevadilha Speed".

Mais recentemente, saiu o álbum "Sangue Violeta e Outros Contos", que reúne as histórias "Sangue Violeta", "Taxi Driver" e "Sabina", publicadas no Se7e, premiado como clássico da Nona Arte no Festival de BD da Amadora.

Faleceu a 21 de novembro de 2017.
