Some people have to learn the hard way-don't mess with a geek. Miranda Bloom, girl genius, is totally psyched to start her junior year at Geek High. Too bad her boyfriend, lacrosse player Dex McConnell, is off to boarding school in Maine. Miranda thought she could count on her best friends, Finn and Charlie, to cheer her up, but they're caught up in their own issues... So Miranda decides to make friends with the shy new student Nora Lee. At first things with Nora are great, but soon it seems like Nora thinks that anything Miranda can do, she can do better. Surviving at Geek High is hard enough without a copycat on your tail, and Miranda's not about to let some imitation artist take her place.
Growing up, Whitney Gaskell always wanted to become a writer. Then for some unkown reason, she went to law school. Whitney then decided to write under a pen name, Piper Banks, but also is now known as Whitney Gaskell.
The title is blatantly misleading, there was no real revenge. I don't know what I was expecting, but it was a happy ending and no Jedi were killed. Bummer.
Less engrossing than the other three. I was really annoyed that a character that was named 'Luke' in the last book suddenly became 'Chad' in this one. Every time I read that I cringed.
Solo a Piper.

I read this after 'Summer of the Geek' so the events prior to the said novel are still fresh on me and lucky me, I haven't slept that much yet--I stayed up all night to finish this (I started reading it after midnight, I finished it when the sun was rising...I mean, it's not that unusual lately, BTW. HAHAHAHA)
Like the third one, I wasn't really satisfied on how it ended...and wondered if there'll be another 'Geek High' since Miranda is still a Junior and the ending is kinda vague--I don't really know if it is the author's subtle way of saying that it will have a sequel...or if not, it sure is lame to end it that way. HAHAHAHA. There were a few errors also, name changing and all that stuff (I still don't know if what I've read is the legit or the raw one) I'm really not satisfied on how the Charlie-Finn-Love-Hate-Relationship progressed, I was kinda expecting it to be explosive (with fireworks and all that stuff, yeah. HAHAHA), once they've realized that it was worth the shot to choose romance over friendship and since I wasn't satisfied on the outcome, I really do wish that Piper Banks will make a Charlie/Finn POV because I find their story more intriguing than Miranda and Dex's--I would really love to read how Charle/Finn think, especially Finn, I love his sarcastic-morbid-smart-alec banters and on how he formulates a video game. HAHA. Though I pitied Miranda, especially when she felt like everything was taken away from her by Nora, but I wasn't really at all pissed off with Nora. I sort of feel sorry for her because she was the outsider, trying to fit in but her plans to fit in is not effective...but I wondered what Nora's specialty is, it seems like she's an ordinary kid, knowing that their school is for the gifted and uber-ly genius kids, it wasn't mentioned in the book: Miranda is a Math whiz and an aspiring writer, Charlie is a brilliant artist, Finn is a mad video game ugh maker, Tech Nerd and really good at Physics without really trying (I really wished I have this kind of Skill--to be good at something without really trying, sure, there's eating without really trying, but what I mean is academically. HAHAHA.) But still, I still found it cute, but I loved the first two novels than the next two. :)

Miranda Bloom is pretty excited for the start of her junior year of high school. After all, she’s landed a coveted staff spot on The Ampersand, Geek High’s newspaper. But with her boyfriend away at a boarding school in Maine and her two best friends Charlie and Finn dealing with their own problems, things aren’t really quite looking up. So Miranda decides to befriend Nora Lee, a shy new student at Geek High. At first, things are great and it seems like Miranda and Nora have a lot in common. But then Miranda introduces Nora to Charlie and Finn, and Nora seems to have a lot in common with them too. Now, the more that Miranda hangs out with her new friend, the more Nora seems to want to show her up. With her friends and reputation at stake, Miranda is going to have to expose Nora as the fraud she is, somehow.
Revenge of the Geek is a quick and fun read dealing with the many pressures that all high school students—even geniuses—face. Miranda is forced to deal with academic competition, friendship disputes, and familial tension as she begins a new year at Geek High. Most of this would seem rather dull and repetitive if not for the strength of Miranda’s character. Miranda is very easy to relate to and understand as she tries to sort out her life. The one thing that continued to puzzle me for the majority of the story was Nora’s character; something about her always seemed a little off to me, both because of her odd behavior and because I felt that behavior was never truly justified. Despite that, Revenge of the Geek remains a sweet and enjoyable read.
Although Revenge of the Geek can stand on its own, fans of its prequels, Geek High, Geek Abroad, and Summer of the Geek will enjoy this novel, as will readers who also liked The Queen Geek Social Club by Laura Preble and Paisley Hanover Kisses and Tells by Cameron Tuttle.
For Miranda Bloom, junior year hasn't quite started off on the right foot. Her boyfriend, Dex McConnell, is off at a Maine boarding school, and her best friends seem too preoccupied to care.
When she meets new girl Nora Lee, Miranda thinks she's finally found a friend who really understands her. That is, until Nora begins to imitate everything Miranda does, from her outfits to her love of writing. And when this begins to effect her relationships, Miranda realizes she needs to end their toxic friendship - and fast.
Miranda, Charlie, and Finn are back and better than ever in this latest addition to the GEEK HIGH series. Piper Banks once again brings readers a story about a geeky girl working through changing friendships and dealing with revenge. The author's multi-dimensional characters play off of one another with a sense of realism that hits close to home for any high schooler.
REVENGE OF THE GEEK is the perfect read for the nerd in all of us!
"Revenge of the Geek" is young adult fiction with a humorous undertone. If, from the book's title, you expect the book to be dominated by a "battle of the brains" feud, that's not this story. It's about lonely teens who lack self-confidence and so feel jealous of what they think other teens have.
Miranda's a realistic but overall nice teenage girl, and her one act of "revenge" turned out to be the right thing to do even if it was initially motivated by the wrong reasons. Miranda's two best friends were quirky, but, overall, the other characters also seemed realistic even though we don't get to know them very well.
The suspense was created mainly by various relationship tensions and wondering how those would turn out. There was a very minor amount of bad language. There was no sex. This novel was the fourth in the series, but you don't need to have read the others to understand this story. Overall, I'd recommend this novel to teen girls as a fun read.
I received this book as a review copy from the publisher.
It's Miranda's junior year, and Dex, her boyfriend, has moved away on a scholarship to a prestigous boarding school. Finn has a beautiful girlfriend and Charlie is working out her feelings for Finn in her art, leaving Miranda feeling alone. But new girl Nora picks up the slack. But then Nora starts acting different around Charlie and Finn, and Miranda feels more and more excluded. When Nora messes with Miranda's shot at the Amperstand, the school paper, Miranda strikes back. Light and easy to read. These girls read like normal geeky girls, full of jealousy and obliviousness both. Really enjoyable family dynamics worked in too.
SO disappointed with the ending! Didn't really feel like an end to this series, but there wasn't really big news besides the where Miranda wants to live that need to get resolved. They're 16, they are still young with a bunch of adult life ahead of them. What are the chances they'll end up marrying their current boyfriends??
AND... So disappointed with the barley revealed details with Finn and Charlie!!! I had to hear all about it in the other books, but now that they are together, the author totally forgets them!

I'm pretty disappointed with this book. The title itself was inappropriate - there was only one act of revenge, I actually thought that she probably got cheated on and she became vengeful and stuff, but no, haha.
Another thing that ticked me off was how a certain character got a name change, makes me wonder how Luke got turned into a Chad. I just read Summer of the Geek before this that's why everything was pretty fresh.
I really didn't like the ending, there were more questions that surfaced..and I thought that this book might fill me up with more answers. Oh well...
Revenge of the Geek is the fourth book in the Miranda Bloom Series. It was my least favorite out of all of the books. While Miranda's family dynamics progressed smoothly throughout the novels, some of the details dealing with her friends and her own personality seemed out of place from book to book. Also, the plot in this novel didn't excite me like the other story lines did. As a last book in the series I wasn't satisfied.
This was such a fun read! It took me back to when I was in school but I was able to enjoy it instead of live-it. Miranda is an entertaining character who I couldn't help but connect with. Revenge of the Geek gets four stars.
By accidentally read this out of order without the rest of the series and I still loved it! Was a little skeptical at first but it was a really cute light read.
