"I will never leave you with anything but pleasure," he murmured. "Remember that."
Oh, yes. Pleasure away Master...
These journals keep getting better and better! As the relationship develops between Rebecca and HIM, Rebecca has reservations about what is being offered to her; yet wants nothing more than to belong to her "Master".
"It's insanity. I'm a contract, a responsibility. A possession to him. He should be nothing but pleasure and the escape he has promised me he will be. And that is all he has promised."
Rebecca needs to have faith that what she's being told is true...and she wants it. But can she truly handle the dark world HE is about to bring her into?
"I was in too deep with him now not to take a leap with him. But I prayed then--and I pray now--that he deserves it. I drew in a breath and breathed out the words that gave him all that power over me. "I belong to you."
“As your Master, my greatest desire and responsibility is your pleasure, happiness, and safety. To upset you is to fail you. In this agreement you will make me your world, but I, too, will make you my world.” - Master
* * * “What does a man like him feel? A need to possess some new toy, and I’m that toy? Perhaps even a passionate need to possess that toy? And while I’m no Cinderella looking for a Prince Charming, nor a damsel looking for a hero, while standing there with him, I had a sense that I will always want more from him than he will give me.” - Rebecca
Poor Rebecca can’t seem to do anything right – even signing the contract and sending him a text picture of it is wrong. Apparently she should have waited for permission to sign – cue some delicious bathroom punishment activity!
“I will never leave you with anything but pleasure,” he murmured. “Remember that.”
This episode from Rebecca’s Journals deals with her Master getting her to the point where he considers she is ready to sign the BDSM contract even thought she feels she already is.
I worry a little that Rebecca is beginning to lose herself under the control of her dominant. I feel she’s becoming more introspective, only giving her innermost feelings an outlet in her diary.
Of the three novellas so far, this is by far the most sensual as it’s incredibly atmospheric as Rebecca’s Master slowly and very assuredly asserts that control over her that they both crave.
There’s a HUGE hint here to his identity and now I believe that he’s not who I originally thought – straight onto Volume Four.

We've been at Starz, Paramount, and more. We've been ready to cast. We were about to film a pilot when covid hit. So if you still want to see it made, remind everyone how much! Tell the world about the sale and share, share, share! Remind them this project is still important! TEN YEARS it's been in Hollywood with so many almost-there stories. I'd need a big drink to tell you all the ways it's ALMOST been done. I believe this series is the best I ever wrote and ever will write again because it's that special to me.
One day I was a high school teacher on summer break, leading a relatively uneventful but happy life. Or so I told myself. Later, I’d question that, as I would question pretty much everything I knew about me, my relationships, and my desires. It all began when my neighbor thrust a key to a storage unit at me. She’d bought it to make extra money after watching some storage auction show. Now she was on her way to the airport to elope with a man she barely knew, and she needed me to clear out the unit before the lease expired.
Soon, I was standing inside a small room that held the intimate details of another woman’s life, feeling uncomfortable, as if I was invading her privacy. Why had she let these items so neatly packed, possessions that she clearly cared about deeply, be lost at an auction? Driven to find out by some unnamed force, I began to dig, to discover this woman’s life, and yes, read her journals—dark, erotic journals that I had no business reading. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I read on obsessively, living out fantasies through her words that I’d never dare experience on my own, compelled by the three men in her life, none of whom had names. I read onward until the last terrifying dark entry left me certain that something had happened to this woman. I had to find her and be sure she was okay.
Before long, I was taking her job for the summer at the art gallery, living her life, and she was nowhere to be found. I was becoming someone I didn’t know. I was becoming her.
The dark, passion it becomes…
Now, I am working at a prestigious gallery, where I have always dreamed of being, and I’ve been delivered to the doorstep of several men, all of which I envision as one I’ve read about in the journal. But there is one man that will call to me, that will awaken me in ways I never believed possible. That man is the ruggedly sexy artist, Chris Merit, who wants to paint me. He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing, but I do. I so do. I don’t understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction. Chris is dark, and so are his desires, but I cannot turn away. He is damaged beneath his confident good looks and need for control, and in some way, I feel he needs me. I need him.
All I know for certain is that he knows me like I don’t even know me, and he says I know him. Still, I keep asking myself — do I know him? Did he know her, the journal writer, and where is she? And why doesn’t it seem to matter anymore? There is just him and me, and the burn for more.
Safewords, bondage and voyeurism combined with Masters, subs and mystery makes for a very interesting read. Don’t sell yourself short though… Rebecca’s Lost Journals are supplemental to the INSIDE OUT trilogy designed to tide you over between books 1 & 2 (IF I WERE YOU and BEING ME).
I am finding that the journals provide a little insight to what is going on in Rebecca’s mind as she tumbles down the rabbit hole and further into the world of BDSM. In this series of entries, we see a little more of a second master and a glimpse into her first experience in a BDSM club.
Time is a-wastin’ and I must keep it movin’, so on to the next series of journal entries!

This novella starts right after The Contract where she now begins to belongs to her Master but still has sooooo much to learn about this new delicate relationship.
Since Rebecca is so green in this new lifestyle choice her Master has to educate her in many ways. If you know what I mean. :) Even though she decides to want to be part of this world her journey is far from over. Here is where she is trying to find herself within the new and confusing yet stimulating world.
Still Lisa Renee Jones amazes me with the allusive Master and all the unanswered questions. Who is he? And what happens to Rebecca? Where did it all go wrong? I love these novellas that help feed us on Rebecca and give us a window to what was really her and what possibly happened in the inbetween before she disappeared.
Bonus.....with this novella we get a sneak peak into Being Me. Woot! Woot! Looks like is it going to be awesome.
Another lost journal down and still no closer to any answers. Rebecca has agreed to give herself to her Master, but before he will accept her submission she must see what he is offering.
There are still so many things that point to so many of the men introduced in this series and yet so many that point someplace else. I just can't seem to wrap my head around her Master being a bad guy in this - so far he seems to be ensuring that she is accepting of all he has to offer, without accepting her answers before he is sure she is ready.
I see a little of Mark and Chris in Master and I am torn between wanting it to be one of them and neither of them at the same time.
Rebecca continues her journal installments of her day to day progression to becoming "his." Can she commit to a contract releasing all control to her "Master?" "He" doesn't want her to sign anything without knowing what she's signing, knowing what she's committing to. Can she do it?
Loving the progression of Rebecca's story. The identity of her Master is never given away. The reader is given hints but nothing for sure. I however, know from reading this nouvella after Bejng Me. Do not make that mistake. This book is to be read PRIOR to reading Being Me.
feel like I'm getting a bit bored with these now... I've been waiting for this big exciting, shocking, hardcore BDSM moment to happen, & it's just not there. only one left to go & I also haven't found myself any of these "clues" for Sara's story, or maybe I have but I'd already figured them out so they don't interest me now... IDK, on to the next one I guess
Although I have a pretty strong suspicion of who Master is, I'm still pretending that it's a mystery. I won't even read reviews for this series past book one because I don't want to read any spoilers that will either confirm or deny my suspicions.
Although trying to figure this out hurts the brain, it's exciting to try.
• The writing is great. • The story is boring. • There is too much gap between when I read the first one to when these journals have been released. • I am always left wondering what the point of these journals are.
Each one of these segments just pulls you in to what is happening in more and more. I hate the suspense, and yet I love it also. What a great side dish this serial this is turning out to be to the main novel.
She needs permission to sign? really? He is such a control freak! And yes, I suppose he would be. Anyway, there wasn't really much sex or romance at all in this one which was rather disappointing. It does make you wonder what happened to her though. Is she somewhere under her master's control?
Most of my reviews contain almost exclusively of my thoughts on a certain book. Occasionally, when a certain sentence is very descriptive of the story or my thoughts, I may quote from the story. For this book I’m going to make an exception. I will be using quotes from this novella as the basis for my review. My thoughts will be draped around the quotes so to speak.
When this third installment of the Lost Journals starts, Rebecca appears to have made up her mind. Yes, she does want what her Master has to offer, she feels ready to sign the contract and wear his ring. When she sends him proof of her decision, her Master’s reaction is not what she expects at all though. Rather than delight at her willingness to submit, she is confronted with anger; Master is not impressed with her making this decision based on so little knowledge of what she is actually agreeing to.
“I’ll teach you what each point in the contract means. Then we will negotiate the final terms. But know this. When you put that ring back on, there will be no holding back for either of us.”
And that is exactly what happens, starting with punishment for her rash and unsanctioned decision. As a result, Rebecca once again finds herself questioning her attraction to this man, which is undeniable:
“There’s this subtle energy that seems to crackle in the air, and I know I’m not the only person who feels it.”
But, while her lack of control when it comes to Him worries Rebecca, she can’t deny the satisfaction she finds at his hands:
“I will push you to your limit, Rebecca, but I will always leave you thoroughly pleasured.”
On the other hand, as Rebecca writes in her journal:
“I want to know all parts of me. I have to know myself to control my life and destiny. But does that mean “he” is the right man to help me make that journey?”
This certainly is a good question and from what I’ve seen of Him in the Journals so far, I can’t say I’m convinced this man is what Rebecca needs. However, because we only see him through Rebecca’s eyes and journal entries it is quite likely that we are not given an objective description of Him. And, to his credit, He does appear to go out of his way to explain his demands and actions to his apprentice sub
“A choice to hand over control under agreed upon terms is not only control itself, but the freedom to let go and escape reality when you otherwise wouldn’t.”
And He makes a point of taking her out of her comfort zone, because pushing Rebecca’s limits will be a huge part of their relationship:
“It bothered me to be shared, and yet it aroused me. I knew then that I had completely lost control of myself.”
Rebecca’s doubts about this aspect of the deal she is about to make lessens as her Master gives her an explanation that makes it clear to her that ultimately all his demands and decisions have a purpose:
“When he’s fucking you, and touching you, and licking you Rebecca, I can watch every little nuance of how it affects you. It’s like a window into your pleasure (...)”
It takes a lot of soul searching but in the end Rebecca comes to the conclusion that no matter what her reservations, and regardless of her doubts and fears there is only one logical outcome to her dilemma:
“Yes in that bed, I knew him as master more than I ever had, and I understood the escape that came from giving him that control, and the pleasure he promised would come with it.”
I like what Lisa Renee Jones has been doing in these journals so far. She gives the reader a wonderful and believable insight into one woman’s journey into what is for her unchartered and frightening territory. Most, if not all, of us will have experienced situations in which the demands of our hearts seem to be in conflict with those of our mind. Watching Rebecca trying to find a balance between the two is proving to be a very enjoyable journey.
For anyone that has read If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones this series of Lost Journals are for you. If I Were You is the first book in a erotic romantic suspense trilogy. The Inside Out trilogy begins with the heroine, Sara, gaining possession of Rebecca’s journal. This journal was discovered by a friend who won Rebecca’s unpaid storage locker. The journal is filled with some very disturbing, yet erotic pages and it prompts Sara to find Rebecca and return to her the items of her storage unit, journal and to make sure she is okay.
The journal is an integral part of the trilogy and leaves the reader wanting to know more about Rebecca and what she wrote. Finally, we are getting what we’ve craved. Ms. Jones has released 5 volumes of Rebecca’s Journals. Supposedly, these 5 volumes Sara didn’t even get to see. I will review each volume individually even though they are only about 40 pages each.
Rebecca’s Lost Journals, Volume 3: His Submissive really delves into the Dom/Sub relationship between Rebecca and Mark. The contract hasn’t been signed, yet. But, that’s Mark’s doing, not Rebecca’s. She is ready to sign, yet he wants to be sure that she knows exactly what agreeing to be his submissive means. His lessons become more and more demanding. He needs to make her understand that he will have complete control of everything, her pleasure, her thoughts and her life. He will own her!
“When he’s fucking you, and touching you, and licking you, Rebecca, I can watch every little nuance of how it affects you. It’s like a window into your pleasure that allows me to not only give you more, but also be the best Master I can be. I can’t do that when your hot little body is squeezing my cock into oblivion. So, let him fuck you. Let him please you. Let us give you the escape I can feel you craving.”
I admit I am not an expert on this lifestyle, but I have read many books that detail it. This is the first book that I’ve come across that the submissive is so unstable in her thoughts about the agreement. She is so into the lifestyle it’s almost an obsession and yet the second she is out of the moment she second guesses and agonizes over it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think this is a slip up on Ms. Jones part. The exact opposite, actually. I feel this is a perfect way for our author to lead us into the troubled mind of Rebecca and give us a glimpse of the urgency that Sara must have felt when reading the infamous journal. Reading these volumes, also makes me feel like someone needs to step in and rescue Rebecca.
Thank you to Simon and Schuster publishing for the loan of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Rebecca Mason wants to get her feelings about her life and where she is headed out onto paper so that she can take a look at her life without having it influenced by emotions either hers or others.
Rebecca is now the submissive to the man she calls master and the reader learns more about both Rebecca and her master. The novellas are fun in that they have the reader trying to figure just who her master is as the reader gets enough information to wonder but not quite enough to know for sure. The novella is a wonderful tease that will keep the reader coming back for more so they can find out just who the master is and what will happen next. It will also have readers wanting to read the next full length book, Being Me, in the series.
Another captivating entry into the thoughts and actions of Rebecca before she disappeared. Rebecca has signed the contract, but does she truely want to be a submissive or is she trying to compromise to form a relationship with the man we only know as the Master.
Does Rebecca find her place in this new world or is she losing herself, we still don't know what happened to her and can only keep reading to learn more about her and her relationships to try and figure it out. I cant wait to read the next in her journals to see if she adjusts and accepts being a submissive with all the rules or if she discovers this life is not for her, no matter what her feelings are for the Master and how this ties together to lead to her disappearance.
Rebecca's journey into submission goes on ,as do my doubts about "his" identity.
She decided to give a chance to submission and to sign the contract but she realizes that she is not ready yet when her master decides to show her that.
She is starting to fall for him but at the same time she knows that he doesn't want her for more than sex.
I myself want and demand to know who is "he". Next time I'll pick a mystery novel I'll just skip to the last page.
Journal 3 was full of sexy scenes and lots of time spent with Rebecca and her would-be Master. This was my favorite journal of all and that cover, wow! This journal revealed more about Master. He sure can put her under his spell. So much, that Rebecca finally feels she has some control in this arrangement and is making the right choices. Another exciting glimpse into Rebecca's life!
This is definitely hot. Rebecca and Mark have a very interesting relationship. Rebecca has some demons she is dealing with and trying to figure what kind of person she is and wants to be. But Mark see what he he knows he can do for her. Lisa Renee Jones did another book in the series.
Absolutely love that we have the lost journals to hold us over until June. Don't hold back start reading this series now. Sub meets master meets mystery and keeps you on the edge waiting.
I skimmed quite a bit of the back and forth in Rebecca's head... my least favorite so far :( still well written and I want to see where the next book takes me... so off to the next
There are times when reading Rebecca's journals that I feel like I can relate to her. The way she was hopeful for more but willing to accept less. The way in which seduction and the thrill turned into something more. I feel like she is so real to me in these journals. At the same time I am also wishing I could insert myself into her story and give her advice. Do you ever feel that way? That is a sign of fantastic writing.
