NEW YORK TIMES says: Not just maps but also blazingly vivid charts and diagrams which along with its detailed text serve to trace for the reader important aspects of history. How did we get along without this endlessly useful volume?
Harper Collins' atlas of world history is a great book for basically any type of geograpgic research involving history. The book shows different regions all over the globe and tells the history of the place. This is good because this is great for research if you want to travel. The book is efficient for any grade level if used for an educational purpose.
It's hard to compress even an overview of world history into a single volume, but this book does an excellent job. The excellent use of maps and color illustrate the text and provide a wealth of detail. A coffee-table book, but much more.
