El: yeah... and I really liked Oh the Places You Go. It was really amazing too, but you're done writing about it, right?"
Me: it was ok?
El: yeah
Me: or... you didn't like it.
El: I DID like it.
Me: So, how many stars should I give it? 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5?
El: 1,2,3,4 and 5. Give that book 5! 5 stars, ok? OK? OK?
Me: Ok. Sorry it takes me so long to type. So what did you like about the book?
El: I thought it was gooooooood.
Me: Why? You know, there were four stories in the book? Right? Which one was your favorite? Which princess story? The one with the pig? The one with the dragon? The one with the tournament? Or the one with the broomstick?
El: All.
Me: You have to choose one.
El: I liked the pig one best.
Me: Why?
El: Because it was so great!
Me: Hey Gwen. : )
Gwen: I like the princess the best.
Me: Welcome to the book review.
Gwen: I like the princess the best.
El: Tell us about about it dad. Tell us about it. TELL US ABOUT IT!
Me: You mean you want me to read this review back to you?

I usually love Usborne books but this was such a disappointment. Its basically a book about two children who live in a castle and happen to be royalty. They play dress up and sometimes have little adventures. the story that irritates me the most is one where she kisses a pig who then turns into a prince. Strait away the mother says she doesn't want a strange prince in the castle so they kiss him and turn him back into a pig!?! What a non story.. Nice pictures and a good looking book but not really a princessy book...
1. The Princess and the Pig 2. The Little Dragon 3. The Tournament 4. The Royal Broomstick
None of the stories are exactly what you would expect from the titles. For example, you might think The Princess and the Pig would follow along the same vein as The Princess and the Frog, however it does not. While the pig does turn into a prince, they actually want him to stay a pig and make it happen.
The stories are told with short and descriptive sentences and large full page pictures, making it a great short story book for small children. Even if you only read one or two at a time, it makes for lots of fun. It'll be interesting to see at what point our little boy gets tired of all of big sister's princess books.

This review is pretty much the same as the fairy tales book. It's a dual reader, so the young reader can read the top line and the adult can read the bottom. It's fun to read together, but you can get the whole story, in a short version, just by reading the top line.
I like these stories because the princess is down to earth. I don't mind he frilly princess stories, but variety is nice. This princess plays with pigs, gets dirty, and find mischief.
