Thanks to my great friend Joey, aka Joseeeeeeeph!, for this book recommendation!
Do you want to be the ultimate business man/woman? You have to read MacKay's books then.
One of the things that impressed me the most is the amount of high-quality personal stories Harvey MacKay has that are related to business. This fact confirms that "hard work will beat talent if talent doesn't work hard". All those stories are just the good ones, which means that he learned by hustling and being "in the arena" 24/7.
Another valuable aspect is that most of what he writes about are principles and mindsets, so even when the book was written many years ago, these are still valid nowadays. It is also fun to read because it mostly involves stories and quick lessons from those stories.
Yes, it is not very specific or it doesn't go deep into any particular topic. Yet, it will expand your mind so that then you can pick the topics that you want to explore further.
Americans panicking over toilet paper? Trump references? This was a MEMEingful 30 year time capsule.
Anyways, well done with the real-life examples mixed with humour. Never thought that second place could beat first psychologically. As someone going into business, these tips will definitely help me.
The book was ok. A lot of tips I’ve heard before (granted the book is older - written in 1996). While there were some good tips, some of the things felt slimy.

I preferred "Swim with the Sharks" and "Dig You Well..." to this one.
To the point and on point-Harvey MacKay gives you career saving and changing gems. Remember to do what you choose to and love what you do and always deliver more than you promise. Harvey's common sense one-liners give you a career roadmap based on practical and proven success. i.e." don't try on the pants unless you are ready to buy the suit". And , "Guarantees? There are none in this life, but there are creative ways to better your chances".
Indeed a very good read! 'Talks about lots of things... Lots of insights, stories and perspectives. Just like attending a seminar/ talk, you'll learn a great deal -- from loving your work, to dealing with customers and managing people.
A real primer on how to get things done and how to get them done with others! MacKay is a KING of networking! He makes the manufacture of envelopes exciting for gosh sake!
