For courses in the Philosophy of Religion, taught in either Philosophy or Religious Studies departments. This book provides a concise introduction to the main ideas and issues in philosophical theology. While covering a wide range of classic and contemporary perspectives, the text stresses a historical approach, focussing primarily on the development of philosophical theology in the Judeo-Christian tradition.
This was the textbook for the class Philosophy of Religion. This book will introduce the reader to a variety of approaches to proving the existence of God and ideas that challenge the existence of God. The thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was the lack of structure in explaining each idea.
A good introduction that provides background and focuses on being understandable. I enjoyed his point-counterpoint approach on many of the issues, though some of them were simplified due to the obvious constraints of an introductory text.
