It’s been nine years since I read the first three volumes of Kami-Kaze, and my only refresher for my memory has been reading my old Goodreads reviews. They’re mildly helpful, but not enough to help me remember the majority of the plot progression and specific characters (of which there are many, and the women all look a bit similar). But, as it’s been nine years, my perspectives have changed in general to vast and varying degrees. In terms of Kami-Kaze, the art is incredible and I feel that I’m appreciating it, as well as other elements of Kami-Kaze, as I age. Any lingering attachment I had to characters is now but an ember, though I am fond of the story and art, even more now than I was before. I’m a bit lost but by the end of it, I was beginning to understand the story once again a little better than somewhat blind. Unfortunately, however, I cannot say much toward the story and plot progression in this volume for reasons stated above, but this truly is a classic and should be read by older fans of the genre. I regret to let my copy go, but I’m not as attached to it as I am other things, and I hope that this spurs on inspiration in someone new to begin the series, or perhaps to find an old favorite.
