After Ishigami (and Beniguma) had recovered at Keiko's place, they set off to Ishigami's home village so that he may further refine his sword skills and better protect Mikogami after they rescue her. But when Ishigami and his group arrives at his village, they find it mostly empty, except for tattered and mangled corpses splayed about. The ones responsible for nearly wiping out Ishigami's village is none other than the jerks he had faced before-- only this time, they are much more determined, and Ishigami is much more weak without the stone he gave to Mikogami! Ishigami is defeated and his blood is dripped upon the Torii, releasing the 88 beasts, thus, opening the threshold to the destruction of the world! To gain more power, all that Ishigami can do is slay his grandfather with the Kami-Kaze so that he may inherit greater powers. Unless he slays his grandfather with the Kami-Kaze, Ishigami will never be able to protect anyone or anything with the power he holds now, but with opposing sides cheering at him, which will he regret the least? Meanwhile, Mikogami has been with Kaede's group for over a month, and it seems something strange has changed inside of her as she unleashes her great powers that had been sleeping all her life...
So this volume was actually entertaining, and I only cringed a short while about eight times. (=-=; )
Near the beginning, the "Oh no! I... I'm wet... Ah..." scene freaked me the hell out and is going to probably scar me for the rest of my life.
But anyway, there was a lot of Ishigami in this one, and I like that. Out of all of these characters, either him, or little Otsuwa, who just made her appearance, has got to be my favorite character. This is because pretty much every other character is psychotic, narcissistic (yes, I'm thinking of Kikunosuke. He is soo cute, and I somewhat like his attitude, but then he always gives me a reason to want to strangle him), and sex-craved. Like seriously, half of these characters can't go two minutes without making an obscene sex joke, having sex, trying to hook up, or playing with themselves. I mean, really? Come on. Everyone should definitely heed the age rating on this one. I regret starting this series, because now that I've started, I can't stop, and I hate that it is all going to be in the back of my mind forever at such an influential age. Ugh. Oh, yeah, and Mikogami has turned into a fucking cunt, apparently. But what I really don't get is why the hell she was on the cover, when she only made an appearance for about two and a half chapters in the whole damn book. And this volume is pretty big! As are all of the others in this series... Actually, she's even on the cover of volume three (and one, with Ishigami), and Ishigami doesn't even get to be on the cover by himself until volume four. Why is that? She's an ugly little bitch, and obviously, she didn't have much significance in the story that played out in volume two. SO WHY? Keiko would have even been a better choice for the cover of volume two, because at least Keiko was DOING SOMETHING through most of it! AARGGHHH
