Ok read! not her best writing...suspense,mystery and interesting storyline with well developed characters who all seemed to be a suspect or the killer (paperback!)
We’ll Meet Again was a book that when I started reading it grabbed my attention, but then it became like a never-ending story. I think some chapters weren’t even needed in the book. However, the whole book was very suspenseful, the ending shocked me.
I did like this book, mainly because MHC really does a good job of setting up multiple possible perps, but her writing at times almost childish, with some fairly clumsy phrasing. I did get sucked in to the mystery, and enjoyed the character of Fran, but the main character drove me nuts, she was such a victim. The passing nod to personal growth at the end, where she realizes that believing in yourself blah blah blah was too little too late.
My first ever Mary Higgins Clark book turned out to be a good one. I was kept in suspense throughout the story as to who the culprits were. Though enjoyable, it's not really a book I would recommend to friends.
I was waiting on a library hold so I plucked this book off my shelf from a library book sale of some time ago. I guess my reading tastes as of late have changed because I used to really enjoy Mary Higgins Clark but I didn't enjoy this book as much as I should have. Molly was the somewhat privileged wife of a Dr. that is found murdered and she is convicted of his murder. After 5-1/2 years of prison she is released. She is determined to prove her innocence and asks for the help of her childhood classmate, Fran. In true Mary Higgins style, she weaves a deeply disturbing tale of murder and cover up. I just felt the book was disjointed at times and I never emotionally connected with any of the characters. It was an enjoyable read and I was definitely surprised at who the guilty person turned out to be but the characters didn't effect me emotionally at all and won't stay with me like some do.
I absolutely LOVVEEEEDDDD this book!! Great story line/plot. Keeps you interested until the very end. The best part is not knowing who the actual killer was. Sometimes you really did think that the main character had gone crazy and had really killed her husband and husbands gf. Amazing book, definitely recommended!
I have to agree with the description of the book here on Goodreads in that the conspiracy involving physicians seems a bit much, but the book was interesting with a nice twist at the end.
This book received 4 stars but it was more of a 3 and 1/2. I had trouble engaging with the story. The author always does a great job of making her novels full of suspense. This time it did not engage me too much until the very end. Molly has been in prison for killing her husband and seeks to get information from others to exonerate herself. She gets into so much trouble while doing this. Fran, a reporter, is a great help in finding out the truth and big problems seem to find her. I will still read more of Mary Higgins Clark. I don't think she's quite lost her gift.
THIS BOOK OMFG!! every single book i read from Mary Higgins clark absolutely blow my mind with they way she can write a twist so well. This twist i swear literally sucker punched me in the face like OMFG! the person who was guilty was in plain sight the whole time but my dumbass was so fixated in these two characters that THE ACTUAL PERSON WENT OVER MY HEAD. 10/10 OMFG YOU GUYS NEED TO READ MARY HIGGINS CLARK BOOKS NOW!!

During her writing career Mary Higgins Clark wrote a huge number of books and I guess with such a catalogue there is always the danger of becoming either cliched (or worse become your own cliche) or worse yet predictable.
However for all of that I am still surprised when I pick up a book and I have no idea where it is going. That is the case of this book - which starts with one of the main characters being sent to prison for murder - where it goes from there you will have to read the book to find out.
So from a rather well worn starting point where it goes next is rather fun and yes I didn't see where it went (although I am not expert in this genre so for those shouting at the back they spotted it a mile off - full respect to you). So yes a fun thriller and one that succeeded in surprising me.
This is a good book to showcase trusting new friends than the old ones as well as a metaphor on female empowerment (and anyone hung-up on sorority sisters or life-long bosom friends fighting over the same man) but the plot is boring to me.
I forwarded to the end after 3 hours to confirm my suspicions on the killer's identity.
Jan Maxwell has a nice soothing voice wasted in an insipid soap opera with irritating characters.
In Mary Higgins Clark's We'll Meet Again, she was no doubt the queen of suspense. When Molly Lasch returned home from her Cape Cod trip, she was the suspect of her husband's murder, when he was found dead in their bedroom Six years after she was released from prison, she came to her friend Fran to help prove her innocence that she didn't crush Gary's skull with a blunt object. She had no memory of the crime. With help from Fran on research and a true crime program, they discovered some shocking truth about the HMO Remington Health Management and other nefarious things. Would that make Fran the next target for murder?
Very thrilling book indeed ! But even if the murderer was completely unexpected, my sister was right : with this being my third Mary Higgins Clark's book, her unexpectedness becomes totally expected if you know what I mean :p ! The three murderers had something in common .. I guess I'll be able to guess who the next murderer is in her next book :D !
This was a good mystery although I was not crazy about the characters. A poor little rich society girl who conveniently feels faint and forgets major events in her life. But the rest of the mystery threads do come together nicely. The men tended to be stereotyped and the three main female characters could have stepped straight out of a soap opera.
This was the first Mary Higgins Clark book I've read. I like her writing style. She writes very short chapters making it easy to put down and pick up when you have only short periods available to read. Enjoyable mystery.
I have no idea when I actually started this book, but I often run into periods where I lose interest in literature and unfortunately this read fell somewhere in the latest installment. However; I picked it back up last week and finished it - already!
I could not put this book down. I don’t often love when a book jumps from one perspective to another as frequently as this did, but I felt it was well done and molded the story to perfection.
My jaw DROPPED when the final pieces of the puzzle were fit together. Ms. Mary had me sweating there for a minute thinking there was going to be a-whole-nother book to read. I’m talking clutch three-pointer, game winning shot type suspense.
Lost memory, gradually recovered over the course of a book, can be a trite story plot. And in this book that proves to be true at points in the story. But it's about a woman who, discovering her husbands infidelity and the fact that the other woman is pregnant, goes away to clear her head. When she returns home, her husband has been murdered. Did she kill him? She has no memory of what she did once she entered the house.The.police thinks she did kill him and she is tried for his murder and sent to prison. Most of the story occurs after she is released on parole.

Wow, this book had me intrigued right from the prologue. Molly is convicted of killing her husband, Gary Lasch, even though the evidence is circumstantial and is serves 5 years of her sentence before getting early parole. A former schoolmate, Fran, who is now an investigative television reporter is tasked with digging into the story for an upcoming segment in the station's true-crime program. Fran's job is made easier after being contacted by Molly who has seen her in the crowd of reporters who have covered her release from prison. Molly knows people will be curious and feels that Fran may be a little more sympathetic than the others.
Fran's original impression is that Molly has been guilty and it surprises her somewhat that after meeting with Molly several times she begins to think that perhaps she hadn't been. But if not, who could have killed him? As she pokes further into the murder and interviews more of the witnesses in the original trial it seems she is poking into a hornet's nest of possible culprits. Will this be dangerous for Fran and even more likely, will Molly be at risk as well?
The tension keeps up until p. 364 of this 369 page book. This was a well-crafted mystery with sufficient possibilities, that the reader is kept thinking that first one character and then another was the murderer. Beyond this, anything I write might give it all away. Just take my word for it, this is definitely a thriller that will keep you reading long beyond bedtime!
Heard a lot about author but never read until now. It is obvious from the beginning that Molly was innocent but there were so many false leads that the story bogged down. That is until the whiplash last 40 pages.
I picked this book up and put it down twice before I actually finished it. It started out with a good premise, but then I lost interest. I had figured out who the killer was fairly early on in the book, although there were a couple of good red herrings.
