A Colin Dann novel at its best. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough and that the book is sadly, out of print. I've been a fan of Colin Dann's work ever since I read the Amimals of Farthing Wood, years ago (1993, I think) and my love of his work has been with me ever since. It's a shame that today's young adult fiction fails to live up to the imagination and charm of books which are written for younger kids.

Nice story, but it changes point-of-view way too many times for such a short book.
Obviously aimed at a younger audience than, say, The Animals of Farthing Wood, there just isn't enough suspense to keep it interesting for older readers.

Recieved this from Father Christmas the year I got my dog!! A nice tale but I think I was a bit old for it at the time. However, it's always nice to read a non-taxing book once in a while and the subject matter was apt for the time.
