Archbishop Lefebvre: The truth

Rate this book
Mgr. George Leonard is Chief Information Officer of the Catholic Information Office of England and Wales. In October 1976 the Catholic Truth Society published a pamphlet written by him purporting to be a factual account intended to assist a reasoned understanding of the Archbishop's case.

The pamphlet was in fact a misleading and unjust attack upon the Archbishop, in which his theological position was seriously misrepresented and views which he has never held were attributed to him. The pamphlet also contains a gravely misleading and simplistic attack on the traditionalist case against the liturgical reform which has followed Vatican Council II.

Mgr. Leonard's pamphlet has provoked widespread indignation among fair-minded Catholics and on their behalf and in the interests of the truth Michael Davies has written this reply.

Excellent (and brief) booklet concerning how the Conciliar Church treats Archbishop Lefebvre. Not only did Mgr. Leonard resort to innuendo but also to outright falsehoods, such as claiming that popes between St. Pius V and John XXIII made "substantial changes" to the Mass. Mr. Davies also points out that for Mgr. Leonard's publisher, Bishop Alan Clark and his Catholic Truth Society/Catholic (mis)Information Office, such mangling of truth and character assassination is pretty much standard behavior, such as the CTS's pamphlet in support of Communion in the hand.
