Pioneer Plowmaker: A Story about John Deere

Rate this book
In the 1800s, the moist soil of the Midwest would stick to plow blades, stopping the farmers as they plowed. Young blacksmith John Deere knew about the problem, so he designed and built a self-scouring plow. With this small start, he founded the famous farm implement company Deere & Company and started down the road to success.

This was a very interesting Biography of John Deere. Started with his childhood and follows him throughout his teen years, and his adulthood. Why he felt the way he did when he stood for what he believed in; although at times it was opposite what his fellow neighbors thought. Follows through his adulthood and to his death. To his legacy he left to this day. Nicely done

John Deere, a young blacksmith in the mid-1880s, created a plow that dirt would not stick to during a potentially disastrous time in Ohio.
