First printed in 1960, in what was then the People’s Republic of China, so it includes Tibetan, Mongolian, Kawa, Hui, Uygur, and Han stories.

My favorites were “Drolmakyid the Fairy” (Tibetan), the bittersweet “Immortal Mountains” (Mongolian), “Zhaozhu Bridge” and “Phoenix Fairy Flower” (Han).
