Nashoda Rose,i really missed you and i’m só glad you’re back!!
Not only that, you’re on a roll!
Because Five Second Rainbird is every bit the story only you can write…
With a tortured hero that doesn’t see himself worthy of the woman he loves.
With a damaged heroine that desperately needs someone to love her and keep her safe.
In a world that i love and am very happy to return to!
Vic and Macayla met a long time ago.
In fact they met at the lowest point in Vic’s 12 year old life.
But Macayla gave him a way to deal with the pain, even if she was only 5.
She even invited him to her birthday….
19 years later,Vic comes home after a mission to deal with the demons inside his head.
But there’s someone on his property….and he never invites anyone!
To his shock,he looks into the blue eyes he never forgot…and she’s not alone.
She has a son with her,and one look at him is enough to see the trauma in his eyes.
But they can’t stay,he’s bound to hurt them one way or the other….
Until he hears where she plans to go,and he knows he can’t let her because it means trouble.
Macayla allowed her father to bully her into giving up her son, thinking he’d go to a good family.
Finding out the truth was devastating and she did everything she could to find him.
Now that she has Jackson back, she’ll do everything she can to help him through the traumas he’s experienced in his short life.
A quiet place, one where her father won’t find her, will give them the peace they both need.
And then the owner comes home….the very attractive, grumpy and lethal owner,Vic.
The one she can’t help, but want to see more of….
The protective feelings he has for Macayla and Jackson only increase, and he knows he’s in deep.
His Rainbird is one of the few people that isn’t afraid of him,not counting his friends, and she’s the only one who’s touch soothes him, instead of hurt..
And when he stops resisting, when he admits his needs,he feels a peace he’s never felt….ever.
Until it goes to hell….
What Vic went through in his life, the abuse he experienced as a kid,and the effect it had on his life, was heartbreaking.
But it was so beautiful to see him help Jackson deal with his traumas!
That alone was evidence he’s a good man, even if he didn’t see it himself.
And Macayla saw….she knew he’d do anything to keep them both safe.
She found a man she could lean on,a man that respected her, even if he acted a little….grumpy.
Being treated the way she was by her father,Vic was the one to show her her worth.
This story hurt,it made me cry,but at the same time it made me smile.
Because of what Vic and Mac went through and because of the way they healed eachother.
Because of the way Jackson looked up at Vic,and the way he “borrowed” his strenght.
Vic and Macayla were his safe place, and they both supported him in their own way.
As adults should….
In short, i loved them all and i can’t wait for Zero Crow!!
