Platon's Republic replicates the same intense and sometimes surreal experience with portraits of Al Pacino, Bill Clinton, Vivienne Westwood, Leonard Cohen as well as more documentary photographs of Jesse Jackson and Bianca Jagger demonstrating against the death penalty and football supporters. Granted extraordinary access to some of the west's most powerful people, Platon's subjects are all leaders in their field. Whether they are from the TV industry, politicians, actors, fashion designers, writers or musicians, they all wield enormous influence within their arena. Platons' portraits are graphic and intimate, but the unusual angles and revealing expressions are his hallmark.
It makes you think of different approaches to current way of how people are governed. The fact that people of ancient greek thought processes seems absurd to modern day average intellectual individual is a result of how we are educated at very first years of our lives at primary schools without us even noticing which is how average adults of ancient Greek people questioned many different aspects of their day to day lives. Even without proper understanding of basic sociologic knowledge, Platon still leaves us with an awe with this ideal government system fabricated by pure logical thinking.
This is stupid , using deception to force someone pick it.
I thought it was Plato’s work but I end up watching images. Funny library put it in philosophy section. Anyways I was lucky that I didn’t request it to send me at home.
I wish there was a possibility to give negative star
