Sins must be atoned for. What's taken must be given. Death and Life are in a balancing act. With one wrong move, Death has shattered the peace and now the time has come for him to pay the price.
Once more Hilja is called upon to make a sacrifice for sins she didn't commit. Like a beacon of hope another choice presents itself but she must decide; save her mate or finally choose her own fate. One path leads her to ruin and the other leads her to the happily ever after she has craved since she was a child. The only catch is that someone must atone for what has been done. Will it be Hilja? Or will it be Death?
What was once an adventure filled with dragons and gods has become a nightmare, one that she will either wake up from or that will consume her forever. Will the sacrifice surrender? Or will she let the world burn for the peace and happiness she craves? Can she truly be happy if her happily ever after doesn't involve the man she loves?
Okay, this book pulled out all the emotions for me, so much so I needed a hug after finishing. It's beautiful, not what I was expecting, especially with how it started. The journey of longing was felt. The resolution, better then I had anticipated. Beautifully done. I've loved all three books.
This book has left me with story withdrawal. I wish I could put into words the rollercoaster ride I have just taken. Ups and downs have left me happily engrossed in the adventure with a few used balled up tissues beside me. Gives a chef kiss and 5 bright stars! Highly recommend
