A little different than the traditional story by using mice and other animals that would be chasing the Gingerbread Man. It has the basic story line just worded a little differently. The ending with the fox is still the same. This could be a good book to use to compare and contrast with children with a more traditional story.

Interesting art. Not a style I like for the gingerbread man story, though. I don't like this version of the text, either. However, the illustrations are fascinating to flip through in and of themselves--skipping the print narration.
