Alyssa Satin Capucilli was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1957. She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, and pursued her interest in dance, becoming a professional dancer and dance instructor. Though Capucilli had written stories, poems, and even puppet shows as a child, she didn't consider a career as a writer until after her own two children were born. To this day she sees herself as both a dancer and a writer, and the two professions complement each other nicely: dancing is, in her words, “telling stories in another way,” and readers of her children's books can attest to the rhythm of her language. Since 1994, she has written more than 15 books for children, and her work has been translated into French, Hebrew, Afrikaans, Greek, and Bulgarian.

Capucilli lives in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, with her husband and children. They have a chocolate Labrador retriever named Huckleberry, who likes to watch the author at work.

No issue for innocent youngsters, but adults may find it hard not to snicker at the juxtaposition of the words "love biscuit" with the soft, pink area below which the reader is invited to touch. Part of the [cough] "Pet & Play" series!

Aside from that, blandly drawn and written enumeration of ordinary things which may be signs of affection.

Dontcha just hate it, when, on what should be a totally normal day - the kind where the sky is just ... well, there, where the streets you walk feel as predictable as the meows of your cat, you suddenly realize that love has snuck up on you, not all at once, but little by little like waves wearing down a shore, until one day you notice that even the smallest parts of your life - what you eat for breakfast, what you think about before bed, the random jazz song playing in a café - have somehow started to revolve around this one person, her laugh, her oddly strong opinions, her way of saying your name like it matters more than just being words, and even though you used to think you were too smart, too logical, too indépendent to get caught up in this nonsense, you now find yourself grinning at things that used to bug you, the way she claim about détails that don't even matter, the way she always get simple words wrong - and instead of being annoyed, you think it's kind of wonderful, kind of the best thing ever, and suddenly you can't tell if you have lost your mind or if you have just finally figured out what it really means to care about someone, and though you might sigh and roll your eyes, act like is no big deal, pretend you're above it all, deep down you know , really, really know that for all the ways love messes with you, turns your world upside down, you wouldn't trade this strange, incredible feeling for anything .

I have tagged this book as a Valentine's Day book but it doesn't necessarily have to be a Valentines book. The girl and Biscuit find things that represents love to them. And through the story little ones can 'feel' that love. By feeling a warm sweater, a fluffy blanket and in the end by 'petting' Biscuit! My 2 year old granddaughter loved it!

I think this is an awesome book to read to a younger ground probably kindergarten. The little girl in this book basically shows her puppy what love is through caring , learning and other things. The heartfelt book was fun to read and I can tell my students would like it a lot. They would also be able to learn form this story as well. This is a cute little book to read on Valentine’s Day in the classroom.

I found this book wholesome and cute. It teaches young people about what love is and what it looks like, like helping a friend or sharing. I can see how sharing this book in a classroom would be beneficial for young people.

This is a great touch feel picture book about a dog named biscuit who goes about learning to love everything. I think this book would be great for young students especially when they are feeling down or sad because its a fun book with a great moral of the story.

Where Is Love, Biscuit is a really cute touch and feel picture book that is all about teaching biscuit what love is. The little girl asks biscuit where is love, biscuit? and then then describes love by saying things like, "love is in the woolly sweaters grandma knits especially for us." I like how the book is showing children what love is with examples and how it is a touch and feel book. Overall, this book was very cute and great for toddlers and little kids.

This whole series is very cute and wholesome and I have read almost every one of them. In reality, this is a touch and feel book so it is very good for children's sensory skills as well. I feel like this is a good book for kids to read because it is a beginner level book that features a dog which most kids love.

This cute little touch and feel book is perfect for a toddler's Valentine's Day. It teaches that love is found in many places and with many people, even with pets. Love isn't just saying words, it is found in the things that people and pets do and share.

Biscuit is the whimsical puppy belonging to a little girl in this book. Biscuit ( and the little girl) find love with Mom, Dad, Grandma, Baby, and Daisy the cat. Love is soft like a shared blanket, in baking crunchy cookies with Dad, in the wooly sweaters Grandma makes, in sharing bedtime stories with Baby, and in the hugs and kisses that Biscuit and the little girl share every day .

another fun kids book, that was in our book section at work, so I thought why not look at it and read it, I loved the biscuit books as a kid, and this one was just as good as I remember them. the fun thing about this one, was that it had all the different materials you could feel while reading each page. if you remember as a kid there would be like feathers or sand paper or gooey stuff, and it was a great throwback to fell all the different materials in this book! I also loved doing that as a kid, and it was a great family and kid friendly book of showing what love is! these books will alway be great children's books.

Synopsis: "Where is love, Biscuit? Discover all the wonderful places where love can be found in this delightful touch-and-feel adventure!"

My Review: This is a cute reminder that love is in everything around us. I am not a huge fan of the touch and feel part of this book because it is so small and with Munchkin being young it is hard for him to find the spots. On the other hand the book itself is nice and small and sturdy for his little hands and he can look at it on his own.

Originally published on my blog, Nine Pages .

This was a surprisingly everyday board book. I worried it would be too Valentine’s to be read anytime, but the story instead asks, “Where’s the love, Biscuit?” and love is found in a soft blanket, in baking cookies, in a knitted sweater. There are touch-and-feel elements on many if not all of the pages. There’s not a lot of story, really, but these were surprisingly refreshing examples on love—especially as it was on display with all of the Valentine’s Day books.

This is actually the book I chose due September 6 for the realistic fiction book with pictures. I originally picked bridge to terbabithia but I realized that wasn't a picture book. I absolutely loved these books, because I love animals and I love golden retrievers. These books were so wholesome and sweet. Some of my favorite series of books because they had so many of them. The book was cute In the fact that it always asked "biscuit" the dog, questions. I loved that part of these books. I would recommend these books for all ages honestly!

This is a sweet and short story about love. It's a board book, so it's great for the toddler/pre-K ages. The narrative is simple and the illustrations are adorable, just as we've come to expect from the books in the Biscuit series.

A great starter book with fun textures for children to feel. This book provides the opportunity to talk about the things on the page while your child looks at and feels the textures of different things. My son's favorite part of the book is the end where he gets to pet biscuit.

This book is great for our younger students because they can relate to their pets that they have at home. The students will be paying attention because they can relate to the book with their personal experiences. Overall cute and adorable book to read to your younger audience!

Board book with touch sections. More for preschoolers than any older kids. A nice tale for valentines day though.
