Relaxing at the magic store? Not while I have an affinity to master.
I'm chilling behind the counter while a thicc goth babe saunters amongst the magical merchandise. Possessing a mysterious new power is pretty cool, too, especially when I'm the only person in the world who can wield it.
It's not all fun and games. A vengeful gym-bunny cop stalks the shadows, disturbing my fun shop life by getting all murdery.
I never thought I'd return to the Academy, but when Professor Sprite offers a mastery of my new power in exchange for a venue to battle Blair, how could I refuse?
And as for the petite ginger Frenchie sent to study my affinity? Sparks fly between her, Misty, and Sophia—literally.
Can we trust Sprite, who sent Blair after us in the first place? And what's up with the mysterious caves under the Academy halls, giving off a strange energy when I approach? It's just another day of being a magus.
A good continuation. Kirk's writing is definitely improving in my opinion. My main issue with the first book was that I was so invested in Misty and Pete after we spent half the book focused on them and they have such great chemistry. I never got there with the other girls and we never got much justifiable relationship growth with the other girls moving into book two. It's standard expectations for the genre but the fact that Misty and Pete were done so well in the first novel, it makes the lack of attention with Pete's other girls stand out in a bad way.
Overall, it was a great continuation and I'm curious what happens next in the story and with Pete and the girls. Definitely worth the read if you enjoyed the first installment.
This book has humor and a bit of action. It develops the relationship between the mc and his girlfriends as his two very different beauties come to terms with each other. Add in a petite, fiery Frenchwoman who is hotheaded and rude, and the return of the killer gym bunny, you have a mix of troubles. Kirk put a lot of effort into the Frenchy speaking French and I assume it works, French is Greek to me. Yes, I know he had help, but it is a hella effort and the reader should appreciate his craftsmanship. The series is worth reading.
Kirk Mason has added a fun filled instalment in this magic filled world. Sassy lovable character driven This story continues with our trio trying to get on with there lives and being dragged into more adventures and battles. With a cute sexy addition to the group.
Another great story in this series!!! As always a fabulously well written and edited magical.adventure!!! Plenty of great unique magic, intense adult fantasy action and an overload of humorous adventure action!!!! A must read for those that enjoy this genre!!!!
I struggle to understand the logic of many aspects of this story, but I don’t hate it. I still don't really get the motivations of the so-called villains. Also, how is illusion magic the strongest magic, and who smokes cigarettes to blunt their perception? Positives for this volume, I guess the continued growth of the main characters' relationship is the most enjoyable aspect.
I always like most of the Kirk Mason books I have read and that continued with Mastering Magic 1 and 2. Especially liked the dialogue between Misty and Sophie.
I really enjoyed this story line. Some nice, some spice and great characters made for a story that kept me turning pages. Looking forward to new adventures and what lies beyond.
I picked the first book up because I found the title to be interesting, and it was. I was hoping that the second book would be just as interesting, and it was. It gives me hope for the next one
