I read this one straight through! I loved Kane and Olivia! There’s no OTT drama and their besties-absolutely hilarious supporting characters in the best way possible! Did I mention Olivia and Kane are teachers?! The story itself was one I could sink my teeth into and the romance- swoon worthy!

She takes a job as a teacher at the local high school but before her first day decides to let off some steam and enjoy a night out with friends and let go a little
Kane Garrison is left vulnerable and hurt after being betrayed by his fiance in the worst possible way. 3 years on and he still has a hard time letting people in and is somewhat content with his life and small circle of friends but is also trying to find a way to push through his issues and fears and maybe be open to the possibility of taking a chance on something new
Kane and Olivia meet and after a night of heat and passion go their separate ways thinking one night was all it was ever going to be but fate had other plans for these two and their lives were about to become tangled in a way neither are expecting
I loved Kane and Olivia's story. It was heart warming, sweet, fiesty and intriguing. They had insane chemistry from the moment they met and I loved seeing them grow and change each others lives for the better. Watching Kane slowly let down his walls and work through his issues was shown beautifully. He was such a complex and broken soul but with a heart of gold and so full of love and strength. Olivia was sassy, funny, incredibly sweet and loving as well as vulnerable. I loved all the side characters in their lives and this was such a great start to what im sure will be a fantastic series and I can't wait for book 2

I connected easily with Kane and Olivia. Both are very enjoyable and perfect for each other. I loved how the relationship growed up. And the way that the author developed the characters, making me beleive for moments that they are real, with their reflexions and thoughts.
If you love Contemporary Romance with great characters, fun, hot and daring, so this is the perfect story for you!

I am SO MAD! SO MAD that I haven’t read this until NOW! I started this last night, stayed up super late, woke up super early to finish it. It’s #unputdownable
I am IN LOVE with KANE! He’s is the MAN! Omg he’s so sweet and sexy and the whole time I was wondering if I really wanted Olivia to have him because I wanted him for myself.
But I absolutely adored Olivia. She’s beautiful inside and out.
Kane and Olivia’s passion was on FIRE, you could feel it, it consumed me as much as it consumed them. Love, lust, heartbreak. Ugh this book had it all. I can’t believe I haven’t read this until now.
Off to order the paperback now ❤️

This story starts out as Olivia finds her boyfriend cheating and Kane goes through the worst kind of betrayal with his Fiancée. One night is all Kane and Olivia thought they would have together and one night was only what it was supposed to be until they find out they are both working at Emerson Falls school.
Kane and Olivia are great together. They have little bickers, they have chemistry and they learn to work as a team and help each other grow and alternate into the people they want to be. Olivia helps Kane basically see the light throughout the story and Kane learns and allow Olivia in.
Overall I loved this story and the plot. The characters are very well written and I love seeing them develop throughout the story!

Gahhh Harlow did me good with this amazing book!
This isn’t my first read by Harlow and I LOVE everything she writes but this story was so good and addicting!!
I just fell in love with Kane. Oh this man just broke my heart and then put it back together with how he didn’t realize he was a true romantic. Gosh he is one of my new favorite book boyfriends. The way Harlow wrote him just really pulled the heartstrings.
And Olivia was so strong and sweet, the best mixture of the type of heroine that I love! How they got together was so different than a typical one night stand but I loved everything about it.

Sweet and sexy! I loved the story of Olivia and Kane. I loved their cute little question games to get to know each other. And I wasn’t expecting the last part of the book, so that was a good surprise. Really enjoyed this! Can’t wait to read story 2.

I completely consumed this book in a day, fully immersing myself into Emerson Falls and the emotions that Kane and Olivia went through.
So much heartbreak occurs at the start of Tangled, with both Kane and Olivia being cheated on by their respective partners. Both are reluctant to get into another serious relationship because of the betrayal and self-doubt they still feel from the sudden end to both of their previous relationships, until a Bon Jovi song draws them together one night in a bar in Emerson Falls. There's so much chemistry between them, you can feel it coming off the pages as you read! What is meant to be a one-night stand ends up turning into more when Olivia starts her new job at the high school, the same one Kane is also a teacher at.
From there, their relationship blossoms, with each of them learning to trust and open up to one another. Kane was so sweet with his questions, such a fun idea to get to know somebody better. One of my main dislikes in romance books is insta-love, it's just unbelievable. However, the way Harlow wrote Kane and Olivia's relationship was so believable, as they had the initial attraction but slowly built on it by getting to know one another better before jumping into something more. Very early on, I was so invested in the couple, I had to finish it to know how it ended.
The twist came out of nowhere, it was so unexpected and the drama that ensued after was also so believable and relatable. No conclusions were jumped to or accusations thrown by Kane to create a more dramatic ending, it really was just a build up of past emotions which he needed to process properly, which was completely understandable after his history. The whole relationship was realistic but so hot and sweet too.
I loved Tangled, I fell deeply into the world that Harlow created. Kane and Olivia were the perfect couple, not because either of them were perfect but because they balanced each other out perfectly. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens with Cooper and Clara!
I really enjoyed this book, and would recommend highly to anyone who loves a small-town romance with a twist! Thank you so much to Harlow for the advanced reader copy, it made my Monday much brighter!

This book was amazing, it’s the first book in the series and also the first book I’ve read by Harlow James. This book is about two teachers who have had some horrible things happen to them, to over coming those problem to find the one they love most.
Kane had been through eight years of war over in Afghanistan whilst studying in his limited free time to come home early and surprise is fiancé. But what he walks in on is the last thing he expected and leads to him locking himself away from emotions for years.
Olivia has been with her partner for around a year and she was very happy to have recently moved in together, she thought she had it all her teaching job, a man she loves and now living together. Then one night when he says he’s working late she decides to surprise him at work with a picnic dinner, little did she known though is that she would be getting the surprise. So she heads home straight away to lick her wounds and recover. Little did she know what going home was the best thing she ever did.

Looking for a feel good, small town romance full of witty banter, steamy scenes and plenty of swooning? Tangled, is definitely for you. I have read a ton of really heavy books lately and this book was the perfect amount of humor, friendship, romance and love.Kane & Olivia had you routing for them immediately. The friends they surround themselves with were fantastic and so much fun to read. I have a definite soft spot for a romance between hot teachers ~ maybe because I’m now much closer to their age than I am to the actual high schoolers! It is always fun to me to read about the teachers and all of the things going on in the school that the students don’t realize.
Harlow James was a new author to me and I was not disappointed. Looking forward to the next couple in Emerson Falls to find

Which leads to a wild buzzed hookup but they will be seeing more of each other much sooner than they think.
Both Olivia and kane are teachers at Emerson falls. They decide to try to be cordial then more but what happens when a blast from the past comes back around will this destroy the relationship they have built ?
Will kane ever trust again?
I love the main characters so well written I like the timeline of the store the conflict plays out brilliantly.

TANGLED hits all the feels. Set up in Emerson Falls, a small welcoming town with genuine and authentic characters you can relate to, this story is about healing, second chances, hope and taking risks. Written with heart, heat and humor, it is the perfect reading for anytime.

Kane gives me life.
I generally prefer longer timelines... I felt this was a little short/quick for my personal preference but it didn’t take away from the overall story.
Definitely recommend. 😁

Wow! Awesome story! Both Kane and Olivia were betrayed by people they loved and trusted. So trust is a huge issue between them. But Kane had the best therapist in the world. She knew all the right questions to ask. Still shocked about the crazy connection between Kane and Olivia. (Kindle Edition)

This is books #1 of the Emerson Falls series. This story Follows Kane and Oliva who have a one-nightstand. Kane is an Army Veteran who has always wanted to be a history teacher. Kane thinks that he’ll never see Olivia again and then when he goes to work, he finds out that she is the new math teacher for his school. When Kane’s past comes back to haunt him, he must decide if he truly wants a life with Olivia or if he has to let her go.
I really enjoyed this story; I liked that Olivia was a curvy heroine. I loved that Olivia was older than Kane (she’s 31 and he’s 29) so that this was an older woman/younger man story. I liked how we got to see the characters go on dates and get to know each other. I loved that he left her little notes in her classroom. I really enjoyed the scene when Kane took care of Olivia. I found that really sweet. I really enjoyed the side characters, my favourites were Carla, Drew, Tammy, Cooper and Tony. I loved that Kane was active seeing a therapist and he knew when he needed help.
Unfortunately, there was a lot of repetition in this story when Kane would mention his past. I felt like that really took away some of my enjoyment of the novel. I would have liked to see more scenes of the characters being a couple and interacting more. One of the plot twists in this story is that Olivia gets pregnant. I do feel like the plot twists in this story were predictable, but I like that they were dealt with fairly quickly. I do think that the pregnancy proposal was a bit too much; it felt like everything was just wrapped up in a nice little bow.
Overall, I would recommend this small-town romance series, especially if you like co-worker’s romances. I’m really excited to read more of Harlow James work and I cannot want to continue with this series.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of repetition in this story when Kane would mention his past. I felt like that really took away some of my enjoyment of the novel. I would have liked to see more scenes of the characters being a couple and interacting more. One of the plot twists in this story is that Olivia gets pregnant. I do feel like the plot twists in this story were predictable, but I like that they were dealt with fairly quickly. I do think that the pregnancy proposal was a bit too much; it felt like everything was just wrapped up in a nice little bow.
Overall, I would recommend this small-town romance series, especially if you like co-worker’s romances. I’m really excited to read more of Harlow James work and I cannot want to continue with this series.

OMG! What a story! Sad to say I’ve never read a Harlow James book before. Boy was I missing out. James is an incredible writer. My introduction to Kane and Olivia’s world was a stellar one that did not disappoint.
It starts with Kane’s POV. A war hero, returning home after serving his country. Unfortunately, Kane gets the welcome home surprise he didn’t want. A surprise he never saw coming. Shocked, and hurt
he gather’s remnants of his shattered life he tried building with someone under false pretenses of love.
Fast forward years later, he is a school teacher who meets the beautiful girl he’d had a one-night fling with. Working. At his job. How can this be? He’d thought he was finished; one-and-done.
But now having Olivia there at his work, is proving difficult to ignore. Especially when he’d declared he’d never love again.
Soon he’s aware that was a lie. A vow he’d told himself to protect his heart. Olivia challenges that and then-some and everything he ever thought he knew about love.
These two characters were wonderful to read, felt so real. Their conflict; realistic. The chemistry was wonderful. Loved how Harlow was able to show emotion in her writing. She is an amazing storyteller and I’m glad to have read this amazing story.

This was my first read by Harlow James, and from Olivia and Kane’s first steamy encounter, I was hooked.
The steaminess is off the goddamn charts hot!
And not only does this book have those steamy romance scenes, but it also has a hell of a load of angst, a few twists and turns, and a undeniable struggle for our leading man Kane.
My heart went out to him. What he had been through and how he had to work through his issues in order to allow himself happiness.
I can’t believe it took me so long to read this one.
I loved it.

I loved this book! Olivia and Kane's story is so sweet! I liked that the characters are so real that you can identify with them.
The story is beautifully written, not rushed and has everything, hot scenes, funny moments and an unexpected twist. This is a great story that makes you realize once again that you can find love when you least expect it.

Kane comes back from serving to surprise Natasha only to get the surprise of his life .Natasha and his best friend have betrayed him.Kane leaves town and moves on to a teaching job.He has trouble trusting and getting involved and dealing with his emotions of the past.One night the bartender encourages him to have fun.What was suppose to be one night of fun turns into a mind blowing attraction . What a great start to the Emerson Falls series. Harlow James had me hooked from the start of this book. Kane and Olivia, both school teachers, tried to have a one night stand only to find out they work together! The story unfolds from there and with an unexpected and awesome plot twist I couldn't put this book down!

This story was so magical! I loved the connection Olivia and Kane had, a swoon worthy couple for sure 😘 and the interconnecting history was edge of your seat gripping. Harlow James is a great author and i cannot wait to see what's next 😊

Real. Relatable. Unexpected twists. And lots of yummy steam! I thoroughly enjoyed this book - I love when a romance is so much more than a love story. Characters with struggles to overcome are my jam & this author did such a great job with that. Loved it!

Olivia and Kane are both struggling with being betrayed in the past. Olivia just found her boyfriend cheating and immediately packs up to return home. The night she moves into her new apartment, she meets up with old friends at a bar and a sexy, lumberjack-looking man interrupts her while she’s dancing. They have one wild night together and a few days later, Olivia realizes she already knows one of her colleagues at her new teaching job, Kane!
I loved, loved, lovedddd how the author built up the sexual tension with the couple, both on their first night, and when they officially start a relationship. It wasn’t some simple, quick eye flirting from across the bar and they go home together. They take the time to get to know each other just a little bit while letting the sexual tension simmer. Their first night together was 🔥🔥! I also loved how Kane was somewhat of an alpha in the bed but had this sweet, boyish innocence to him about dating. Oh and you do NOT want to miss the motorcycle scene in this book! I really enjoyed the slight twist towards the end of the book! It made some of the small details cohesive.

Kane is hurt he found his best friend in bed with his fiance when he gets back for being discharged after deployment 3 years later he finds himself in Emerson Falls being the History teacher he always wanted to be. Olivia went to surprise her boyfriend at the office cause he had "to work late", only to. find him hooking up with his secretary. She left with out him even knowing packed up her bags and headed home back to Emerson Falls. When her girlfriend drag her out to get out she meets this guy named "Garrison", end up having the perfect one night stand. When Olivia starts her new job at Emerson Falls High as the new Calculus teacher, she runs into none other than "Garrison" Kane. How will working together pan out? What happens when the past finds you again?
This story was beautiful! I fell so hard for the broken man of Kane and how he was molded back to this beautiful human by meeting Olivia! I love both of their back stories and how the story came together. I honestly didn't the climax coming didn't think that was the "shoe drop" Harlow killed it with this story!! I adored it so much!

Harlow did a FANTASTIC rendition of raw life situations that hurt you in the worst way imaginable and leaves you to crawl your way out of the hole by facing those feelings head on and learning to move on. From cheating scandals to infertility struggles, mistrust issues to past acquaintances, its all in here. I thought my heart couldn't handle one more obstacle for Kane and Olivia but Harlow throws in another one and there it goes bleeding out again. Maybe it hurt more because I could related to sooooo many of these situations which made this read even more wonderful and I STRUGGLED to pace myself with this one because I knew how epic the journey was going to be. She designs a plot that forces our characters to be adults and shows respect and maturity in their growth. I loved each and every character in this - they were all so full of life and spunk and i cannot wait for the rest of the books in this series! *Goes to pray for an ARC*.

I was absolutely hooked on this book from chapter one, wanting to know more about each of their stories. Liv and Kane were both fighting heart break and in the mist of everything they were figuring within them selves they found it in each other. And now I will be reading book two because Harlow has a way ending the book with a cliffhanger!!
