I love this book because it involves something that every child loves - candy! This would be a great book that I could use for younger students in Pre-K through 1st grade. This book focuses on counting pieces of candy, as well as small word problems of addition and subtraction. It would be a fun activity to extend from this book by allowing the students to count real candy and manipulate them for a hands-on experience. Then the students can have a tasty treat after the lesson! For a Pre-K or Kindergarten class I would use this to teach counting, but for 1st grade I would incorporate counting as well as addition and subtraction. I think this would be a fun activity that all students will enjoy.

This book is one of my favorite math books because it teaches students math in a fun and engaging way. Candy is something that every student (and teacher) loves! I would implement this book in my lower elementary classroom to teach students about addition and subtraction. We could do many hands-on exploration activities to solve the story problems within the book. I may make this book a math center for students to explore at.

As this book is about counting candy, it is a great book to use with children when teaching them about counting. Students will love the bright colors and illustrations as well as the fact that they are counting candy. It would be great to actually county candy with them afterwards. Good for Pre-K to 1st grade.

This book is great for working on simple addition and subtraction problem. This would be a great book to read and use as a follow-up activity with candy--something students would love! I would have students come up with at least one addition and subtraction problem that they must solve with their own candy. They can always have the candy as a tasty treat afterwards!

This book used candy to learn to how to add and subtract. Students will enjoy this book because of the pictures and it's something almost all children can identify with. You can read this in class and have candy as a manipulative and children can eat it afterwards for a yummy snack.

Teaching your students about counting, nice book here. This book also has addition and subtracion. You could add some candy manipulatives as you read aloud and also a nice treat for your students to take home.
