If I could give this half of a star I would. I should not have tortured myself by reading another one of Al Cobb's books. I am sure he is a very nice man, with good intentions, but he is an AWFUL writer, completely boring and WAY too religious. At least 5 times in each story he mentions god and the bible, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the tales.

The stories repeat themselves, Al talks so much about himself, and just like in Danny's Bed, there are not any real ghost stories. Just short horribly written paragraphs about movements and sound.

Please please please spar yourself, and do not read any of his books.

I was very disappointed with this book, and I wish I didn't purchase the sequel because I dont have high hopes for it. This book was way too religious for me. I don't need lectures about God and Jesus and whatnot, I am just here for the spooky stories. As to that, there wasn't much to the ghost stories, and I found them rather boring and filled with fluff, like talking about Jesus and angels and how you shouldn't use a ouija board. I have had more interesting paranormal experiences in my own life than what was written in this book, and I have pictures to prove it! I can't believe there were absolutely no pictures in this book showing apparitions or at least orbs, yet the author mentions that certain cases had pictures, but they weren't included in the book. Also, I was hoping to hear of more ghost stories from known places in Savannah, but some of the tales took place outside of Savannah or at places that a tourist can't easily visit, like private homes or places a bit of a drive from the tourist areas. When I did a walking ghost tour of the city, the tour guide told us stories about all the hotels and restaurants and parks that were haunted in the historic district, and I guess I was hoping for more of that in the book. I was hoping for stories that would align with what you would hear on a walking tour. Stories of the historical district that a tourist can go and check out for themselves to see if they can encounter any ghosts. Don't get me wrong, the author does include some places, but a lot is spread far and wide. Also, the last chapter seemed like a complete filler chapter. It talked about a train wreck and compared it to the atom bomb going off in Japan back in the day and how multiple people died at once, but never actually told us a ghost story, just a sad story about death. There were several chapters like this in the book, where we aren't really hearing a ghost story. It seemed like the author was trying to fill up the pages. Lastly, there was one story that the author recounts from another source. It's about the ghost that threw bricks. I'm sorry but I think that story is one hundred percent fabricated. It's not the authors fault, he is just retelling the story he got from another source, but I truly believe the original writer of that story made the entire thing up for publicity or entertainment. It was the most interesting ghost story in the book that's for sure, but highly unbelievable.

Very short ghost stories. Not enough detail for me. Some of these stories are highly unbelievable. There are multiple instances where the story claims to have photographs taken showing possible supernatural activity but none of the photos are actually in the book. :(

Mixed feelings about this book. The author's earnestness is endearing, and there are a few effective ghost stories in here. However, it's also not very well organized, and some chapters don't even discuss ghosts at all! Not really what I was hoping for. (C+)

A few interesting stories, but the majority of them are a HUGE stretch to believe they're actually paranormal occurrences and not just coincidence or bad luck. Considering that the author spoke directly with the people relating the stories, it would have been nice to have seen some of the photographs he was shown that he claims are definitive proof of the ghosts in question. I'm not a skeptic, but I am skeptical of a lot of the cases mentioned in here.
