"I'll never hate you, Michelle. Honey, you just made a mistake. You were careless. Everybody is sometimes. The trick is to try hard not to make the same mistake twice."

Recently, I've been watching Full House on Netflix. Since this is one of those shows that never ran in India when I was a kid, this is my first time watching it. And my, what a show! I've been completely enraptured by the Tanner family (and by Jesse Katsapolis and by Joey Gladstone). It's amazing how easily they can lighten my mood and make me happy. (Plus, John Stamos. Ahem, ahem.)

Anyway, I started watching Full House because as a kid, I had read many of the Full House books. They were available in our school library and every week, I would issue one to read for myself. As soon as I was done with mine, I would borrow my friend's book because we weren't allowed to return the books before a week. (This was when I was in the seventh grade.) So that was when my true love for Stephanie and Michelle began. Watching the show, my love for Stephanie only grew. (I honestly love the girl right now.)

But then, I also like Michelle a lot. This is one of the reasons why I picked up The Great Pet Project. The other reason is that I wanted to relive that childhood of mine which seems to have been gone for a long time now.

The Great Pet Project is a short read, a little less than 100 pages and is about Michelle Tanner, as she tries to convince her dad that she wants her very own pet. It's difficult because in order to prove that she can be responsible, she brings home the class mice for the weekend. One student has to take them home every weekend and every student has to do it eventually. So Michelle convinces the teacher and Danny to let her have them for this weekend instead of at a later time. After all, when her father sees how well she can take care of them, he'll let her have her own pet, won't he? But all hell breaks loose on the last night of the weekend.

So what is it that the kid finally realizes by the end of the book? That she is ready for the pet or is she not? If she is, then what does she do? If she isn't, then what does she do? That is to find out as soon as you pick up this beautiful story written by Jacqueline Carrol, which I assure you, won't disappoint you. It is the perfect story to read to the kids and the best part about it (and the other Full House books) is that it definitely provides you with a lesson by the end of it. So hey, go, give it a go, already!

What can I say... sometimes a Full House book just hits the spot when you don't feel good.

I don't really remember the book's plot much, but I remember I apparently really liked it... I started reading it while waiting for a test to start (in 2nd grade). I was so interested in it, I didn't realize when the test did start, and had it taken away by the teacher! :)
