Do you know the definition of a Corker? I didn't either before reading this, but it's an "excellent or astonishing person or thing." This book is a very interesting read as it is written in the perspective not of Corker, but of her brother Ben. Ben is a 23 year old living with his mom, when his best friend Steve comes home from his mission. Corker got the nickname from Steve before his mission when she schooled him in ping pong. Little did they realize that the name would stick, because it seems that everything Corker tries she always succeeds. Corker and Steve dated before his mission, and so things get interesting because getting married and having kids aren't exactly in Corker's ten year plan. She wants to make it big time in New York, and a family would simply slow her down. Ben and Crker were both raised in a home without the gospel, even though they were both baptized. This book is enjoyable as we see many people influenced by the love and friendship of a returned missionary. Will Corker go to New York? Will Ben ever leave his mother's house? Read and find out!
I wouldn't ever make my whole class read this book, because it's about religion, but I would recommend it if anyone was looking for a good religious author/ book. I liked this book enough I would suggest it to my older class, but no one under like 14.
