Jocelyn Lassiter is receiving death threats. Death threats connected to a bomb threat at the Evermore hotel, where she’s head of security, and to Simon Britton, military explosives expert, who used a similar bomb for training when she was an FBI agent.
Simon Britton is trying to get his life back together after he and his team were less than honorably discharged from the military after a CIA assignment went south. Getting the call from Jocelyn to help discover who is threatening her brings him right back into the fire. Someone is trying to frame him, but this time there’s more at stake than his reputation – Jocelyn’s life.
And his heart.
Can he work closely with her to diffuse the threats and discover who wants to destroy both of them?
There's continuous action, danger and suspense all the way through. Simon receives a call from Jocelyn about a fake bomb because she took training from him in that field while she was in the FBI. Needless to say, they get involved in more than they bargained for. HEA.
Leanne Tyler is a author I have only read in Elle James world but after this second great book (The first was in Team Falco) I have come to the conclusion it is time to find her other works and devour them. This is the second book in the Team Raptor world a team betrayed by their country and given a dishonourable discharge through no fault of their own Yes the case is been reevaluated but the wheels turn slowly Simon Britton is the teams explosive specialist and he has been called into help in a case where a confetti bomb was released in a swanky hotel Jocelyn Lassiter the head of security and former FBI recognises his trademark work and calls him in. But this case is twisted and soon they are wondering if it is Jocelyn or Simon who is been targeted all they know is that they will have to work together if they are to get to the bottom of the case and when things take a deadly turn they will need the help of other Brotherhood protectors if Simon is going to save the woman he has grown to love.
I generally love the Brotherhood Protectors books, but this one was so poorly written and edited I have realized that going forward I need to pay attention to who authored the book I’m choosing. This one: poorly written (thin, disjointed, disappointing plot; poor character development; unnatural dialogue); abominable editing (frequent homonym confusion and incorrect word choice; many subject/verb agreement issues; frequent spelling errors; etc.). The editor needs to go back for an English 101 refresher course.
Simon is just finding his new 'normal' in Fools Gold, the team are settling into their new job and Wally has been convicted, which means that whilst the shadow still hangs over that final mission, they have had some closure and cleared their names. When Jocelyn calls he thinks it will be a quick job, an easy consultation....but he finds he is targeted once again. He has no idea who, what or why, but both he and Jocelyn have a target on their back, they must work out where their paths have crossed in the past. Whilst I like Simon and Jocelyn I didn't click with them in the same way as I did with Darius and Fenmore in book one, so I still prefer that book. It was however nice to see Simon in a more positive roll, as in book one he was very negative and struggling with his anger and need for vengeance, so seeing him bring that under control here was good. Simon and Jocelyn seem like they are really great for each other, they read each other well and because they have similar experiences they can relate to the other in a way most civilians can't. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
🏨🎉This book is lacking on emotion. We're running through the situations. We're getting only dialogues and settings, no inner monologues, barely getting grasp of what our main characters think of each other, their impression and all. They're not veering from their professionalism, so I'm not getting any spark.
🏨🎉Weren't they all supposed to be happy to help each other in any situation? Isn't that how these book works? So why other character's hs are being a bitch about letting their man go?
🏨🎉I really hate it when previous main leads spew their stories to console or relate to the current ones. It feels immature and cringey to me.
🏨🎉Their chemistry is one step away from being awkward. I don't get their romance.
🏨🎉Just like that "I love yous" are exchanged and she's ready to move for him in one day....... And yes Simon is her reason not the crappy job where most people hate her.
🏨🎉No one reacting to her resignation either. The romance is halfhearted, the mystery and danger as well.
🏨🎉Emotionless and dissatisfying.

I don’t know if this should be a 1 star or 2. This one feels “off”. It’s as if the author doesn’t know anything about the Brotherhood series and what they stand for. It’s like she’s meant to write a stand alone with no real connection to the team or previous books or characters. And fails.
Simon was part of a tight group of highly trained men but everything in this one feels like he’s bumbling through.
It feels so disjointed/removed from the first book in this Team Raptor series. It feels like the author needed a specific word count and added all the extra bits to pad it out with irrelevant details.
There is no romantic connection between our MFC and MMC. MMC feels almost useless and not a highly trained special forces person. MFC might as well not be in the story at all. Don’t get me started on the whole declaration thing. Blah! Hated the whole scene. It was clinical and as if the author had to check the boxes. Actually the whole book was lien that.
This book kind of makes me want to give this series away. I found out there is multiple authors each writing a book. Surely they have read the other books to know what the series is about. Not a fan of this authors writing.
Also. Please get the book edited. Or if it was the. Find a new editor.
Leanne Tyler is a new author for me but in my opinion this was a fantastic addition to Team Raptor and Elle James’ Brotherhood Protector Series.
Jocelyn is a strong and beautiful character. She’s been dealt a bad hand but found her feet again with strength and determination.
Simon is a beautiful and strong character. He’s been betrayed by the very country he swore to protect. Despite that hanging over him and the guys he’s making a life for himself.
Both characters are strong and determined. They couldn’t be more perfect for each other and having a front seat on this addictive rollercoaster ride was just heartwarming.
This is the second book in the Team Raptor series and it is a brilliantly written piece of art.
Can’t recommend highly enough.
Much more than 5 stars for this beautiful and compelling read
After being introduced to Simon in the first book, I was immediately curious to find out more about the source of his anger and what it would take to calm those raging fires. While we learn more about what provokes his anger, Jocelyn was not what I was expecting the answer to his calm to be. Dealing with her own sudden career change, she’s able to meet Simon on a level that many others can’t. And even though she’s an infinitely capable investigator in her own right, she still needs Simon for skills only he can provide. This book adds to the layers of deception Team Raptor has been the victims of. However, I was a little disappointed in the resolution of the specific mystery of this book. I still have questions and I’m not sure if they’re the sort to be answered in the other books of the series.
Simon’s Promise: Brotherhood Protectors World by Leann Tyler is book 2 in the continuing saga of the Team Raptor series by various authors.
What starts as a regular JSOC mission turns into a nightmare for Team Raptor, losing 3 of their teammates, returning home to face a disciplinary board, lose their military careers and finding a place with Hank Patterson and his Brotherhood Protectors..next up is Simon Britton, explosives expert and Jocelyn Lassiter former FBI agent now head of security at the Evermore hotel. She attended one of his training and the bomb at her hotel looks to be similar to what he used when teaching them how to disarm…suspense, danger, threats, looking for the truth, action, romance and more…
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Simon and Jocelyn. Picking up a little after book one, Simon is called by someone who took one of his seminars when a fake bomb was used to cause havoc at a resort. He goes to assist and it comes around that the fake bomb is his training bomb and was stolen. Quickly things spiral and he and Jocelyn find them selves in danger and trying to figure out who is behind it all. Some of it was obvious and the connecting piece was an interesting, but not too surprising of a twist. The brotherhood and their significant other’s appearance and initial reaction to help was surprising. The romance was somewhat surface level, but sweet. The friendship with her assistant and how that ended waa my favorite part, well that had the role Swede and Darius played!
Team Raptor - Simon's Promise. I loved this one! Fresh new take on how the two main people meet (Simon, our ex military now with Brotherhood Protectors in Colorado) and Jocelyn,(Ex-FBI now head of security for a top notch hotel). The story line was fresh, there were twists, a red herring or 2, suspense, romance and we get to see some of the Colorado crew and their significant others. This one was a page turner that I really enjoyed. I need to find more of Leanne Tylers works! Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #SimponsPromise #BrotherhoodProtectorsWorld #TeamRaptor #LeanneTyler #TwistedPagePressLLC
Jocelyn Lassiter is head of Security at The Evermore Hotel. She has the strength and determination to do her job.
Simon Britton works for Brotherhood Protectors and is part of Team Raptor. He is a strong protective Alpha.
Jocelyn and Simon know each other., when she was with The FBI she remembers Training with Simon. ( explosive expert) . So she calls him about the bomb in Her hotel. They work together to find out more than they bargained for and i who is the target. You will have to read the book to find out what happens. This book has edge of your seat suspense, action, twists , turns, and romance.
Jocelyn had been a FBI agent but received a life altering injury. She is now the head of security at Evermore. After a fake bomb and a death threat, she calls the man who had used this same type of bomb at a training she attended. Simon is heading to Colorado Springs after receiving the call from Jocelyn. It's good timing too, he is still struggling with thr aftermath of his last mission. While working together to solve the puzzle pieces and the threats, feelings between Simon and Jocelyn are growing. Jocelyn is missing and Simon is going out of his mind. Will he find her?
Simon and his team's last military assignment went south, and they were less than honorably discharged. Simon and his friends took a position with the Brotherhood Protectors, trying to put their lives back together again. Then a call comes from the head of security at the Evermore Hotel asking him to help with a bomb that he demonstrated to the FBI. Jocelyn is also receiving death threats that leads to Simon also getting them. Is there a way to find out who the threat is coming from before there is more trouble than they can handle. I recommend this book and series.
SIMON’S PROMISE BROTHERHOOD PROTECTORS WORLD COLORADO TEAM RAPTOR BOOK TWO LEANNE TYLER Called to investigate a fake bomb that turns out to be one of his training bombs, Simon finds himself drawn into a series of events that have him protecting Joselyn and himself from unknown attackers. Want a read that has action, romance, and suspense…this is it! Characters who are perfect for each other. Another exciting adventure in the Brotherhood Protectors series. It definitely was a great late night read.
Another great story in this series. I don't know this author except for this world so I need to make a discovery of her other works. It would seem that Simon's past career could be coming back to haunt him. Jocelyn who is head of security at her hotel calls in Simon due to a connection with a bomb found. Who wants it in for her and why? And how is it connected to Simon? Are they both in danger? I really enjoy how this author wove this tale, slowly connecting the clues. I highly recommend this series.
When Simon receives a call from Jocelyn after she finds fake bomb that has his signature on it, he goes to the hotel to lend a hand. When he gets there, he finds out that a direct threat was issued at Jocelyn, who happens to be the head security at the hotel. He decides to stay and help her find out who is after her and to protect her but also finds that she is the one for him. A good read with some suspense, insta love and good characters. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
This is book# 2 in the Team Raptor series written in the Brotherhood Protectors world. Each book is by a different author. This is Simon and Jocelyn's story. Jocelyn is a former FBI agent, but a gunshot ended her career. She is now head of security at the upscale Evermore hotel. Simon is former military explosives expert. There is a bomb at the Evermore hotel which has a death threat for Jocelyn. I liked this book. Great story!
Jocelyn is a former FBI now working security for Evermore hotel. Simon is a explosives expert. When a bomb is found in the hotel and a note that threating her, she calls on Simon who she's taken a class on bombs since the bomb is what he did in the class. This is the second book, and it didn't disappoint it's a rollercoaster ride with everything that's going on. Are they really after Jocelyn or is someone from Simon's past still out to get him?
Jocelyn is a former FBI agent, who is now the head of security at a large hotel, when someone puts a bomb in the hotel with a threat to her. When Jocelyn realizes the bomb is a fake like the one Simon uses in his classes on bombs, she calls him in to help her with the threat. Simon is immediately attracted to Jocelyn, but he has to keep focus on the threat to her before he can think about anything or anyone else. A quick, easy and enjoyable read. This book was given to me for an honest review.
Simon is former Delta Force and a member of team Raptor. He is still having anger issues over his dismissal from the military. Jocelyn is a former FBI agent currently working as the chief of security at a hotel. An investigation brings them together and puts them in danger. This is another entertaining and fast paced story in this series. The characters are interesting and readers will love them.
I received an ARC Copy of this book, and I voluntarily chose to review it. Simon makes a promise to his fallen teammates one he plans to keep. This is a well written story with awesome characters. I enjoyed seeing old friends from previous book and getting to see new characters. I think you will enjoy this one, I know I did. Go get this one and ENJOY!!!!
Simon's Promise: WOW! Another exciting addition of team Raptor! Simon is different to the other guys on his team because of what happened on their last mission before they were all discharged. He holds grudges for a while. Then he heard her voice on the phone and he couldn't wait to meet her! It was exciting, intense, hot and full of surprises!
I really liked Simon & Jocelyn’s story and the authors writing style but she really needs to get better proofreaders. There were several times where the character names were wrong and just some minor editing issues that a good proofreader should have caught. Other than some minor editing issues the book was really good.
So many unnecessary details like "then he walked over here. Then he checked for her. Then he asked someone where she went. Then he walked back. Then he decided he had time for a phone call. Then he made the phone call. Then he went back to check on her. Then..."
Really great addition to the series. Simon and Jocelyn worked well together in solving a variety of threats. Separating what threats were aimed at whom was interesting. Glad Simon set Cary straight. Enjoyed seeing characters from previous series' in this one.
This should have been a good read. The story was there. It's what got me to the end of the book. But sadly, the editing made it a challenge to read. It kept throwing me out of an otherwise good story. I did finish though, so that says something.
You can change careers, but that doesn’t mean that trouble won’t follow you. You can try and protect someone, but you can’t do it 24-7. If trouble wants you, they eventually will find a way to get to you. But with the help of friends, triumph always wins.
This book is a lush blend of thrilling suspense, tantalizing twists and seductive heat. Loved Simon and Jocelyn's story. It kept me on the edge, desperately turning those pages and deep in my feels.
