New Day Diva #4

Trying to Stay Saved (New Day Divas) by E. N. Joy (26-Apr-2011) Paperback

Rate this book

Lorain is back from her sabbatical, and although God didn't reveal to her all that she wanted regarding her past, she refuses to just let things be. When all the pieces of the puzzle come together, just how many lives will be damaged, and how many will be restored?

The survivor of one of the most horrific experiences a person could ever endure, it appeared as though Sister Nita, as leader of New Day's Janitorial Ministry, was hiding behind a mop and a broom. When her spirit discerns a cover up amongst a couple of New Day's members, will she turn a blind eye and mind her own business, or will she finally begin to operate in her true calling?

Mother Doreen knows who she is and whose she is—a child of the King on assignment doing kingdom work. When the plot thickens to a story on which she thought God had closed the book, will she forget who she is and what she was called to do?

The New Day Divas series, known as a soap opera in print, is full of chance, coincidence, and fate, but more importantly, it's full of faith.

What a story

This book was so interesting from start to finish. I just loving reading about the story unfolding. I love Mother Doreen. I can’t wait to see how her relationship with Pastor Frey evolves.

My thoughts

This was yet another great read in the series. I am enjoying reading the deliverance that each character is receiving during this series. I can definitely pull something out and apply it to my life.

Loved all three different family stories! Great motivation for young Christian readers. Enjoyed so much! I am now moving on to “she who finds a husband”.

Win, Lose or Draw

“Trying to Stay Saved,” book four in the New Day Divas series, is overflowing with drama, emotions, truth and fear. Sister Lorain is back. Unfortunately, she can’t remember the events prior to hitting her head, but she knows that Unique, a younger sister from the church, and Brody, her mother’s fiancé, are involved in her mystery. Can she finally come to grips with the past?

Mother Doreen is still in Kentucky trying to help her sister Bethany and her family as they adjust to life without Uriah, Bethany’s husband, as well as the birth of her nephews baby. With so many rumors flying around in the church, Doreen continues to try ministering to her family in hopes that they realize that God is not the author of confusion. When even more confusion pops up, Sister Doreen finds herself in need of her own lesson. How much more drama can this family handle?

Sister Nita has been a member of the janitorial ministry at New Day for years. She knows that God is preparing her for something more, but she just doesn’t know what yet. Paige is even happier since their return from vacation. But as life gives her husband Blake lemons, he tends to take his frustrations out on her. Sister Nita seems to be right around when Paige is feeling at her lowest; is this merely a coincidence? Or does she see the writing on the wall?

“Trying to Stay Saved” deals with a lot of past, turmoil and fate. I’m enjoying the way the series is progressing, but this book in particular seemed to be on overload, losing some of its value. With that said, I cannot wait to read book five, I CAN DO BETTER ALL BY MYSELF.

Another awesome book filled with drama, emotions, truth, and fear. Lorain is back, and can’t remember much due to hitting her head. Lorain tries to put the pieces together about Unique and Brody. Mother Doreen is in Kentucky trying to assist her sister; Bethany after the death of Bethany’s husband. Paige is upset that her husband Blake is not spending enough time with her. Blake begins to be a little rough with Paige, and Sister Nita sees the signs of abuse. This book deals with a ton of hurt, emotions, and fears…….It is hard living in a crazy world, but one must try to stay saved….

I read this book when it first came out, and just recently re read it for a book discussion with the author. The Divas at New Day are at it again with several surprises. Great story as always.
