It helps you get to know the dogs that are helping the people who adopted that dog. It also helps us to get to know what dog to get like sweep, she is helping take care of the herd of sheep. I love dose and most dogs are nice but same are mean. some of the dogs have to be mean to us to protect their territory so if intruders come they can scare them off by a little bark to let them now that a dog is home.
Impressive stories about how dogs "serve" humans (and seem to enjoy it). When Toby was a therapy dog, I always told him we were going to do some "work," and his entire personality took on the responsibilities of a working dog. This book gives examples of mine dogs, search & rescue dogs, herding dogs, service dogs, etc -- inspirational!
So this isn't great literature, but it is a good read. There is no plot, just individual vingettes, and I really enjoyed all the info about termite finding dogs and arson decting dogs and water dogs, shepards, etc. But problably not interesting if you aren't a dog person.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about all of these AWESOME dogs. I learned about some jobs for dogs that I wasn't even aware of. This book made me love dogs even more! I'm in awe of all that dogs are able and willing to do.
This book describes several different kinds of working dogs: cadaver dogs, search and rescue dogs, etc. It was fun to learn about the many tasks these working dogs can do. Good doggies.
A fairly thorough look at the types of work that dogs perform in modern times. Each chapter describes a different type of work through a dog "employed" in that position.
