I made him promise to follow the rules.

MACKENZIE
I didn’t want his help. The last thing I needed was to spend my time thinking about my best friend’s older brother. Falling for him was off limits. When it became harder to stay away from him, I kept it a secret. I knew we’d stumble eventually. Would we be able to catch ourselves when we did?

BRYSON
Making a deal with my sister’s best friend was a mistake waiting to happen. She didn’t want to admit she needed me, but I couldn’t walk away when I could help her succeed. I was determined to make her see herself through my eyes. She told me to promise that I wouldn’t fall.

I wouldn’t make promises I couldn’t keep.

Meg Becker received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Kansas, but she has known she'd be a writer since she wrote her first story in the first grade. Today, she finds herself at home in a field of sunflowers, by a lake in the mountain, or anywhere with a good view, but she resides in Kansas City with her amazing husband that is nothing like the broody men she writes about in her books. She's a sucker for a happy ending, and she can often be found reading with an iced coffee or glass of red wine, quite possibly both.

When she's not reading or writing spicy romance, Meg is likely learning a new hobby, cuddling with her two dogs and cat, or performing the soundtrack to RENT from behind the steering wheel of her car. During football season, she puts down her pen every Sunday to cheer for the Kansas City Chiefs. Visit her online at www.authormegbecker.com.

"Fall apart, sweetheart. Completely shatter for me, then let me take my time putting you back together."

This was such an emotional and dirty read! I'm a huge lover of dirty age gap romances with a ton of heart, and this book definitely checked those boxes for me!

Mackenzie and Amanda have been best friends since childhood, despite being complete opposites. With Amanda's older brother, Bryson, being 10 years older then them, he wasn't around much while they were growing up, having already moved out and started his life.

Fast-forward to the present, and Mackenzie is a curvy, self-conscious bombshell who just got dumped by an idiot. Trying to reinvent herself, she does something she never would have before: she signs up to run a marathon! (𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭, 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳!)

Something else she would have never done?: Made a deal with her best friend's older brother to exchange exercise training services for help setting up his new bar. What's the worst that can happen when two hotties with sizzling chemistry get together?? Should all be fine as long as they abide by one rule: 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥.

3.5 stars!

Best friend’s brother age gap romance featuring a plus size FMC? How could I resist! 🙌🏽 And I’m glad I didn’t! When I tell you I devoured this book, I mean it. Both saccharine sweet and intoxicatingly sexy, Don’t Fall is hard to put down once you pick it up.

I loved Bryson and Mackenzie’s relationship! There’s undeniable chemistry between them off the bat, both physically and personality-wise. The teasing was god tier 🤌🏽 and the spice? 🔥 Love! I do wish we got to see more of the age gap dynamic come into play, but I still enjoyed it! More than that, I really enjoyed how supportive of each other’s goals they were and how much they genuinely care about each other. The biggest turn on tbh 😂

This was my first Meg Becker book, but it definitely won’t be my last. I look forward to reading the second book in this stand-alone duology! If you like the best friend’s brother trope and are looking for a read with some spice, give Don’t Fall a shot!

For a woman who has severe issues with the best friends' brother trope I absolutely devoured this one!

"What if they're mad?"
"Then we let them be mad."

That was the moment where I knew Meg Becker could write me a thesis on cockroaches and I would probably read it.

Not because the line was swoony (although it was), but because I felt it. There was no second guessing whether or not these two loved one another because they were willing to sacrifice everything to be together. "Jess, it doesn't happen like that in real life." Doesn't it though?

Aren't we constantly falling for someone we think we shouldn't for whatever reason. The beauty is in the truth behind the words. In the way that Bryson was all in from the very beginning - IYKYK - and even though it took her awhile to catch up Mackenzie was all in too.

This is my favorite read so far from Meg, and I can't wait to see what happens when Amanda gets her own story.

"What if they're mad?"
"Then we let them be mad."

There you have it! The resolution to every best friend's brother romance trope. Let the best friend be mad for awhile. They'll get over it. Maybe they're mad because it was kept a secret; they feel hurt and foolish. Just a thought.

Don't Fall by romance author Meg Becker is a steamy best friend tries really hard not to fall for best friend's brother. Thankfully for us romance readers it's an epic fail.

Mackenzie and Amanda have been BFFs since childhood and live together after Mackenzie's harsh breakup with her live-in boyfriend. When Bryson, Amanda's brother sees Mackenzie upset at their Halloween party something protective stirs in him

To get out of her funk Mackenzie signs up for a marathon soon realizing she's out of shape for it. Bryson has bought a bar and has a limited time to get all the paperwork and repairs done for inspection by New Years Eve.

So they make a deal. He will help her with the race and she will help him with the bar. The only rule is don't fall in love.

It's a slow burn to falling in love with all of Mackenzie's denials but a quick fall into lust. Bryson, who's 10 years older, knows how to make time count with swoonworthy moments.

Example A:
"Fall apart sweetheart. Completely shatter for me, then let me take my time putting you back together."

Example B:
"It was supposed to be nothing a
and then...I realized she was everything."

Example C:
"You can't need me "
"Too late for that, sweetheart."

I enjoyed the first person dual POV, though Mackenzie, and Amanda too, can be immature; whereas Bryson, given he's older, is first to fall and is honest with himself and Mackenzie about his feelings. If I'm honest I broke the rule too and fell for this sexy romance...okay I fell for Bryson!

I received a free copy of this book from #breysbooktours for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Mackenzie has been Amanda's best friend since they were kids. Amanda's older brother Bryson was never really around. Being 10 years older than them, he had already started a life of his own.

Now, Mack and Amanda are in their twenties, and Mack has just been dumped by a schmuck of a guy at Amanda's annual Halloween party. This is also when Bryson realises what a bombshell Mackenzie really is. But since she's his sister's best friend, he isn't going to act on his feelings.

Mackenzie has really low self esteem, and wants to learn how to feel better about herself. She signs up to run a half marathon, but she needs help with training for it. She strikes a deal with Bryson. He helps her train, and she will help him fix up the bar Bryson recently bought.

They have only one rule: Don’t fall for each other.

I've been reading more books with 'real' bodies lately, and I'm not hating it. It's nice to read about women with curves. And nowhere in the book is it said that Mack is training because she wants to lose weight. No, she just wants to be proud of herself for achieving something. The fact that Bryson is helping her and motivating her while actually loving her voluptuous figure is even better.

They are a hot couple, and the tension and build-up between them is incredible. The fact that they had to hide their relationship only made the fire between them better.

Of course, something had to happen where they were found out, and the only thing that bothered me a little bit was the way they out themselves. In my opinion, it could have been a bit more dramatic and drawn out, but it was still a good turning point in the book.

If you like the best friend's brother, age gap, he falls first, secret relationship tropes, then this is the book for you!

ARC COPY

Mackenzie and Bryson's story was written beautifully, showing lots of fun-filled moments, family time, friendship goals, couple goals, and the emotional side of the leads as well as Amanda.

It was a simple girl code: "You Don't Fall For Your Best Friend's Brother," yet Mackenzie started falling for her best friend's brother, Bryson.

For Bryson, Mackenzie was off limits; she was his little sister's best friend, but once he fell for her, he was ready to fight for his love.

Their chemistry was scorching hot, and they showed their raw emotions, which added a natural essence to the story. The author added a few festivities, which added lots of fun-filled moments, family drama, and of course romance.

I really liked Amanda's character; she was fierce and protective of Mackenzie; she was a chatterbox; and it was fun to read her character.

I loved the beautiful cover of this lovely book.

Overall, it was a beautiful read.

" 'It's girl code. You don't fall for your best friend's brother.' "

Meg Becker is back with Don't Fall and it's one you don't want to miss.

Don't Fall is such a vulnerable, emotional, romantic, read and I fell in love with Bryson and Mackenzie from the very beginning.

Mackenize, fresh off a cruel break-up, tries to reinvent herself and signs up to run a marathon. (Not me girl, GO OFF). Realizing she needs help to train, she enlists, Amanda's brother, Bryson. And he asks in return, for her help, redoing the new bar he bought. Just one rule. DON'T FALL.

I absolutely loved their relationship, from the minute details to the big picture.

And Becker's writing? Nothing but love.

tropes // childhood friends to lovers, age gap, best friend's brother

tw // car accident, cheating (not b/w MCs), hospital setting, graphic sexual content

I love Meg's writing style and how the spice enhances the story and isn't just thrown in for the sake of it.

Our FMC is gorgeous and curvy but self-conscious. She decides to reinvent herself after being dumped by her idiot of a boyfriend and signs up for a half marathon. Enlisting the help of her best friend's older brother she starts training, in return for her help doing up the bar he just purchased, with one rule - they don't fall.

I loved the chemistry between them and you could really feel how much they cared for eachother. Mackenzie's personal growth of self acceptance and self confidence was great and I loved how Bryson guided her through it. I'm glad she could see how much more she deserved than her crappy ex was giving her.

This is a super cute story with lots of spice and chemistry. The first in a duet of standalones which makes me excited for the next one.

Mackenzie has always enjoyed looking at her best friend's older brother, but Bryson has never had eyes for her, or so she thought. When her boyfriend dumps her, Bryson is the first one on the "who hurt you?!" train, and I was here for it 💯.

When Mackenzie impulse signs up for a marathon, Brys agrees to help train her so she doesn't embarrass herself in front of her coworkers. Early mornings at the gym and running in the park leads to stolen glances and more than one secret.

I loved the dynamic between Brys and Mackenzie. He's ready to be everything she's ever wanted from the moment she gave him the time of day. I love it. I'm hoping for more by this author as the best friend/sister needs closure! And Ed, too!

Girl Code - You don’t mess around with your best friend’s older brother.

Guy Code - You don’t mess around with you sister’s best friend.

Mackenzie and Bryson are having a difficult time staying true to the code. Newly single Mackenzie agrees to help Bryson fix up the bar he just bought if he helps train her for the half marathon she signed up for. Can they stay loyal to Amanda, Bryson’s younger sister and Mackenzie’s best friend?
What happens once they both fall?

This book packs in a lot of spice! 🌶🌶

[I loved Bryson & Mackenzie.

If you love the whole best friend's brother- you shouldn't be into him, oh and he's older than this one is for you. Though the age gap seems to be more a mere mention and the focus is the BFB.

Mackenzie's douchey boyfriend dumps her, and she moves back in with her bestie, decides to run a half marathon, and enlists her besties brother to help her train. She set a rule: not to fall for each other. LOL. Girl was screwed. Dude was already smitten.

I love the confidence Mackenzie continued to work on through the book.

I loved the text message banter between the two and some of the things Bryson said to Mackenzie 😍

Read it in one sitting, such an easy read that kept me engaged.

BRB while I go devour Don't Stop.

Mackenzie is coming out of a relationship with a total jerk. Bryson has given up on finding the right girl. The one thing the two have in common is Amanda, Mackenzie's best friend and Bryson's little sister. Mackenzie needs help training for a run. Bryson needs help getting his bar ready to open. Sparks fly when they come together, but can they keep their relationship quiet?

Don't Fall is a typical love story with a predictable plot. But it was also a great book to read for me, especially on a vacation, because it was enjoyable nevertheless and a break from the science fiction and fantasy I have been reading. Great writing and characters.

The book has enough amount of spice (wink wink), romance, and emotions, which is enough for us to place ourselves as the main characters. The plot is simple and sweet, and very relatable. The amount of spice scenes in the book is adequate in the amount needed to kindle the emotions of the readers but at the same time added in places only where it is necessary. The tension between the main character is clearly conveyed to the readers through the right descriptions of the author. I suggest Don’t Fall to readers who wish to start with romance or soft spicy novels.

swoon

Bryson and Mack are such end goals. And let me tell you the best friends brother trope is a good one. I kinda wish for more angst or something it was definitely not a slow burn but it wasn’t exactly fast paced either.

This was a quick, easy read about Bryson and Mackenzie. After Mackenzie breaks up with her boyfriend, she ends up moving in with her best friend Amanda. They have been best friends forever and she's more like a sister than a friend. Bryson happens to be Amanda's brother, and Mackenzie knows that they can't cross a line. She ends up asking Bryson to help her train for a marathon that she has decided to enter, and he agrees. They both have feelings for each other, but Mackenzie tells him that if they are going to hang out and be around each other, "Don't Fall". She doesn't want to risk her friendship with Amanda. But they fall, and they fall hard. They end up sneaking around behind everyone's back until they can decide what to do, but then something happens, and they end up coming out about everything. I'll leave it at that, but I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters, and I especially loved how close they all were. I would definitely recommend this book if you're looking for a quick, easy, sweet read.
