There are no secrets in this book to help your company only difficult disciplines that take effort to work. The overarching goal of this book is to push management and business owners to not become complacent and to continue to ask questions. Understand the why of every part of your business. How to view competition as a battle with attacks and retreats. To look for anomalies within your industry and utilize them and learn from them. What are ways your industry has compromised and people say “this is just the way it is” this book inspires new ideas on how to find competitive advantages in business.

I really enjoyed this book but my main issue is that I read it with the construction industry in mind and found it hard to apply some of these examples and principles to this industry. Overall great book if you are in the retail/ consumer sector.

Phenomenal book on corporate strategy and the steps companies take to win market share. Great number of case studies packed into a relatively short book, and the authors do a great job of making the reading experience feel more like a bio rather than a HBR article.
