Though a small book it does an excellent job of surveying and explaining the different methods used to help one better understand the bible. Additional study materials into each method is recommended. While Vos provides helpful bibliographies, much of the material (including this book) are a bit dated and undoubtedly you will be able to find newer material covering the same topics. However, I still highly recommend this book.
Vos provides a succinct description of each method and a model of it in action. I felt the book is immediately applicable if read carefully. Some, particularly today, might have difficulty with some of the vocabulary and sentence structures. Overall, however, I thought the material quite easy to comprehend.
