Summer... Fake Dating... and Love...?

When the shimmering spotlights of Hollywood become too
much, Percy Roberts finds comfort in the small town of
Eden Cove and in the arms of the beautiful Camilla Harris.
A romance that's cut short when her ex-boyfriend comes back into the picture, leaving him heartbroken, and without a girl to take home to meet his family.
Not wanting to face the knowing and pitying looks of his siblings, finding a fake girlfriend seems to be his only solution, and he's got just the girl in mind.

With her best friend Jess away touring Europe, Avalon Wilson had plans for a normal and uneventful summer, full of long days working at her mother's pastry shop and morning walks on the beach. Then Percy Roberts - star of hit TV show Ryesmet - comes sauntering into her shop, with an offer she can't seem to refuse.
Soon she's whisked away to LA, tasked with convincing his whole family that they are in a healthy, steady and loving relationship. Easy peasy, right? After meeting his family, she'd not so sure.

So, let’s start from the very beginning.
Fake dating. Forbidden Romance. A lot of family drama. Just by that you should be convinced to read it. If you are not… Then just wait until the end of this review.
This is not your everyday romance. The topical cliché where the main characters are going to immediately fall in love and live happily ever after. And you know what? I’ll tell my kids that THIS RIGHT HERE was the greatest piece of literature back in the day.
Avalon and Percy. Avalon and Peter. My heart loved them both so much. But THE ENDING? It was beautiful. It was brilliant. And honestly it just made me love the story even more.
On a very serious note. The fact that the entire book was so Taylor coded… No one can tell me I’m wrong.
So… Me and this book are now one and I fell like my entire soul belongs to it. And I’m not being over dramatic. Or am I?
I’m in love with everything about the entire story with every fiber of my entire being. AMANDA, I KNOW YOU JUST RELEASED THIS ONE, BUT I NEED ANOTHER. PRETTY PLEASE?

Ps: Now in all seriousness. Amanda deserves so much more recognition. I don’t think you understand what a great piece of work this is. 💓 And Amanda, I know how much work you’ve put into it and I’ll tell you… You should be really proud of the result. I know I am.

I had a hard time with the beginning of the book. It felt weird and rushed and didn't make a lot of sense to me.
But man... When I started with chapter 10 it slowly started to make sense and when I began capter 16 I got it.

This is so different from anything I've read.
I don't want to spoil so that's where I'll stop. But I definitely recommend giving this a try.

**Spoiler Alert**

There is absolutely no way I can accurately review this book without giving away a spoiler or two. Sorry y'all!

Avalon (aka Ava) is a sweet, small town girl. She doesn't recognize Percy, but his nightly visits trigger a friendship unlike any other. One that will have her agreeing to be his fake girlfriend and fly to LA to meet his family so that he can save face with them.

Percy is a quick to fall, hopeless romantic. When he gets dumped in the spotlight he runs away to Eden Cove where his family used to vacation when he was a child. It's there he meets Camilla and falls pretty fast. Ava warns him that she's strictly a summer fling girl, but that doesn't stop his heart from getting broken. Now he has to sweet talk Ava into playing Camilla to his family...a role she doesn't really want to be in but feels bad for Percy and accepts.

Ava fits right in with the Roberts family. They are mostly famous, but she could care less. His sister, Piper, is the only star she actually had heard of, and they hit it off pretty quickly. Parker is the baby brother, and the moment she shows interest in his soccer she officially won his heart. Now Peter is an entirely different story. He is the oldest brother and they hit it off the first time they met, although they didn't know who each other were.

"Romeo might be a sweet talker, but I swear I felt the same when I first spotted you a that airport cafe."

With Ava pretending to be Percy's girlfriend she finds it wrong to follow her desire to be close to Peter and likewise Peter would never do anything to hurt his brother, but they are simply drawn to each other. As the tension between them grows Percy get jealous and comes to the realization that maybe Ava is perfect for his family and maybe they should date for real.

The truth will eventually come out. For Ava and Percy, their friendship with supersede any other feelings, and once Parker and Piper get over the hurt feelings of being betrayed, they will remember the true friendship bonds they formed with Ava. Now Peter...he will get over his fears and make the grand gesture he loathes.

"I like you. And I want you. I shouldn't, but I do. And selfishly I wish you had met me first."

I loved the family relationships that riddled through the pages, how they were almost as important as the love story to the storyline. The beginning was a little slow, but once Ava met Peter in the airport, I couldn't put it down.

I will note that there are a few typo words that made my reading flow catch, but overall it was a wonderful story.

"How even if you're only willing to glance at me, I will feel like I'm flying to the moon."
