This is basically a textbook on the subject of franchising. It may be the first textbook that I've actually read from front to back...

If you need to know a lot of information about franchising, this is the book for you. The information is a little tedious at times, so it's best if this is a subject in which you are actually interested.

I read this book because I wanted to be more knowledgeable on the subject. I can't imagine having it for required reading in a class, but if you're interested in how franchising works or want to know if franchising is right for your business, I would definitely recommend giving this book a read.
