I read this as part of a Mystery book club. We met the author. This book is set in Oregon. The author is a real life police officer and has served as a sniper in Gresham, Or. This is, I believe, his first published book.

I ended up hating the main character in the end... But gave it 2 stars for me wanting to finish it....

too much explanation between the action sequences makes this story drag a bit.
