Cheyanne —I don’t have friends. And I’m not crazy, my mother had me tested. I have my uncle, but he’s in prison. While I’m not great with social cues, I do know it’s not a good dinner topic to bring up I’m related to someone charged for treason. But that doesn’t seem to bother him. A beast of a man who takes me for what I am and doesn’t question. Or at least not till his club thinks I’m the enemy.

Mad Max —

When I got out of jail, I swore I’d never go back. The freedom to do what I want and have my club brothers beside me again is all I need to keep me on the law’s good side. Or, just not to get caught like last time. But when I left, I never expected I’d be pulled toward someone with ties to those still inside. To a man I’ve grown close to that made me question if I could have loyalty to both the Hounds and him.

My club doesn’t trust her and wants me to stay away. Her uncle made me promise to protect her. When lines get crossed, and she makes a decision that affects the lives of the innocent, I don’t know if I can hold up my end of the deal. Just not sure if I’m breaking my promise to her uncle… or my club.

Trigger This book contains swearing, violence, and scenes that some readers may find uncomfortable. And lots of fun times between the sheets.

After reading Flint, I was looking forward to the next story about the Hounds. The guys are pretty tough and gruff, they are a biker club after all, and the women are fierce and take no crap from anyone.

Cheyanne is neurodivergent and I enjoyed how smart she was and her tendency to over-explain things. She was funny and confident and didn't play around with what she wanted. Max was kind of a teddy bear when it came to Cheyanne and I like that he's the strong silent type.

The plot was a bit ridiculous at times and some things felt rushed, especially the romance. I did still have fun reading this and am definitely going to get Gator's book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to the author for this copy

Why couldn’t the main female character have autism and be proud of it? Why did the autism have to be useful? Was it not enough to just be an autistic person?

I enjoyed the book- as I have all the others in this series I just wish Cheyanne could have been aware of her brain being different and known how to live with it. Very stereotypical representation of autism. I liked the other books better.

Better than I thought…

After reading Flint I wanted to give up on this series but I was interested to see if the author changed anything to bring in Mad Max.. and they did! This book is back in my top of the series. Steam starts off right off the bat, it doesn’t disappoint, but after about 30% it levels off. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is because there was so much other stuff going on, and the establishment of Fairy’s involvement with the agency, that I felt like I was skimming a lot of parts because I wanted more of her and Max!! I love that the Hounds want to help people and stop those who are dealing in the skin trade but I wish these books spent more time on the couples relationship too. I loved Cheyanne’s personality and Mac was hotter than hot. I love their size difference, it made me think of a tree and a little Fairy floating around him. 🧚‍♀️ 🌲 Worth the read, I hope the next one spends more time on the relationship.

This is Max and Cheyanne's book. The author tried tying Cheyanne to one of the heroine's of a prior book but it was quickly dropped. Cheyanne was a stronger character but had quirks that just made it hard to identify with her. She and Max got together way too quickly which didn't allow for anyone to be invested in the couple. While the story moved the overall arc forward and touched base on three other future couples, the actual story between the two characters was lacking & her acceptance by the club with a background check that was greatly lacking was unbelievable. I enjoyed the prior books in the series but this one was difficult to make it through. There were too many plot holes - eavesdropping on the ladies but that seems to be forgotten, voyeurism when it's doubtful they would just leave a door open, a threat of Lady but then Bulldog just shows up like nothing happened, etc.

great read

Every book seems the guy starts out an a hole, towards the girl but not this one. Max is recently out of prison promises to watch over his cell mates niece, Cheyenne. They both went to prison for killing men who SA a girl/woman… but several of the Hounds have. Trevor (uncle/cellmate)was marked as a traitor by his agency. And is his nieces only family. He was infiltrating a Trafficking ring when he got pinched. Max paralyzed child apist… FMC. Cheyenne Gets communicated to. About a missing girl so she gets involved pretending to be a “buyer” when max. Doesn’t know whether she is in on it, or playing hero! He has to chose between his MC or the girl who has him all twisted up! She is smart but quirky maybe a bit slightly autistic. Cheyenne is On the spectrum at lest by the sound of her. She is Native American

Cheyanne/Mad Max
Fairy/Beast

🌶️🌶️🌶️

You start off with a bang 😉 literally. It's why I gave three spices. (Public) literally in the kitchen.

I enjoyed the story line. There's something about books that bring light to such a big problem like sex trafficking. Is it hard to read about? Yes. Always. Unfortunately, it's also a reality.

Both Cheyanne and Mad Max's characters are strongly written. Cheyanne is totally bad ass and is so awkward in social situations that it just make her so much more relatable.

Mad Max is silent type. When he speaks, everyone pays attention. Always do enjoy the silent types.

These twos dynamic together fits.

I genuinely enjoyed Cheyanne's personality and how she didn't always get it. It made for some fun times with what she said and how she reacted, especially when she would throw off the guys. I think more people could be like this, shrugging things off or looking it up later.

It was fun to see how Cheyanne stymied Max while at the same time of drawing him in. Even Cheyanne wanting to save the women and trying to do it on her own was great, even if you knew she would be over her head, so it was a good thing the club go in on the action too.

Things got a bit dicey towards the end, but they were able to do what they needed to and now there is another old lady around.

Mad Max and Cheyenne take us on quite an eventful journey. Their story is nothing if not chaotic and exciting. Cheyenne gets off on the wrong foot with the club and because of that Mad Max is in a bit of a bad situation. He's head over for her and with good cause, she's brilliant and bada*^ to say the least.

"I’m totally, completely, truly, madly in love."

These two burn the pages up. Cheyenne provides plenty of humor while Mad Max gives us all the touch her and d*^ vibes. This is another great addition to the Hounds.

fairies & beasts

Anyone who grew up reading dark romance books that says they didn’t love Beauty and the Beast as a kid is a F!KN liar. But this book has all the feels!
I love Cheyanne’s quirks and how much it doesn’t bother Max one but. They accept each other for who they are. This book like all the others had me laughing in bits and wincing in others, but most of all gasping from the panting melting parts. I’ve never agreed with “I’d like to climb him like a tree” more than the descriptions they give for Mad Max haha!

Great book!

Honestly I still don’t know what her job is, but that’s secondary. I liked her, really liked her quirks and how she behaved in public, with her waves and everything. Mad max was a cool guy, solid, taciturn but loyal to his club and now to fairy too. It was a good story, but even the couple found each other, the all around story wasn’t over, I guess. The MC was a good bunch and fun. All in all it was a good read, sometimes I had a problem with the wording, but you can over read it.

I absolutely loved Cheyanne. Forced to grow up early because of her advanced intelligence, she doesn't recognize basic social norms. She is awkward and has to think before acting to try and fit in and be normal. As she works to infiltrate a sex trafficking ring, she draws the attraction of The Hounds of the Reaper MC, especially Mad Max. I loved how Max saw beneath the surface of Cheyanne and accepted her quirks as adorable. Great story with two main characters that were perfect for each other.

Mad Max Hounds of the Reaper & all books on series

As I said in my last review, this book series Hounds of the Reaper are all excellent! Great stories, with lots of mysteries, action, betrayal twists & turns, friends, family, love, romance, comedy, & lots of sexy details, but not too much to be disgusting, or BDSM over the top forceful or gross. S.J. Rowe writes it all just right!

Great story!!

This is the fourth book in this phenomenal series and this is Cheyanne and Mad Max's story.
This is a well written action packed story, with family, friendships, emotions, challenges, humour, witty banter, loyalty, danger, suspense, intrigue, secrets, undeniable chemistry, comrade, and unconditional love, which all leads to an entertaining, and captivating addictive page turner
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly.

Loving the Reapers

I have completely enjoyed every story in this series. Mad Max and his Fairy were no different. This felt different from the others, but I still loved it.

Cheyenne is such a character. I love all her quirks and the bond she forms with Mad Max. It was faster than the other relationships before, so I think that's what threw me a bit. Still enjoyed it, and it kept me invested the whole way through. I'm super excited to get to Gator and Baileys story next!

great read

Author has upped her game with characters. Absolutely loved fairy, best character yet. Probably somewhere on the spectrum but she was an absolute hoot. Beast was well just the best, hardly spoke but a book boyfriend nevertheless. One of the best scenes was when dairy was playing pool in the club. Absolutely priceless. I couldn’t stop laughing. Series is definitely addictive and I highly recommend.

OMG this book starts off with and bang and just keeps them coming! The story line is great! The girl is NOT a damsel in distress, she is smart, witty, and can hold her own, but Max loves to take care of her. This book shows the "family" side of a MC. Beautifully written.
I will be getting the other books so i can finish the series!

Have loved each book of the series

This book took longer for me to read than the first books mainly because the main characters were so different. The enter discussion of what each is thinking is complex and simple at the same time. I have to wait another four months for the next book to come out but I have no doubt that it is going to be fantastic.

I was really impressed with this. I read the four before this and I love them so I can't wait for the rest because I know she has to write more in the series. I can't wait for the vet and Casper cuz they've got to be it a story for them that has to be. But I really want to know what's going on with the things at the end of the books

Mad max and Cheyanne

So well written and another good book! Although Mad Max and Cheyanne are a unique couple, they accepted that they were together. I'm not sure they are in love. I felt like the storyline got list at the end although u assume it will carry over to Gator and Bailey's story.

Mad Max and Fairy

Cheyanne meets the Beast, yes, that’s right the Beast! He’s a tree she wants climb! Don’t miss the Beast throwing out the trash and the Fairy climbing the oak tree!
This series is full of mouthy, strong women, even one that might just throw a fist, or knife, get ready to duck!

Such a good MC book

If you want a good MC book or a great series this is the series for you. Honestly I have not liked the summary clip but the book never lets me down. The girl in this one was amazingly well written. I just loved her. I loved the guy too but she was something special. Highly recommend.

Mad Max

Mad Max is out of prison and helping the club with their latest problem. He meets Boo and its instant attraction. But she is hot on the trafficking case and caught in the Hounds and Mad Max web. Loved the connection between Mad Max and genius Boo.

I honestly don't have much to say about this book. I love the instalove types and this was definitely that. Mad Max was a little weird in an unclear way, but I thought the MCs had one of the best connections of any of the couples, tbh.

I really liked Cheyanne. I actually wish we'd gotten to see a bit more of her *throwing* skills (IYKYK). I did like her bluntness/somewhat naiveness. It almost appeared that she would've been considered to be on the autism spectrum? But that was never addressed.

Anyhow...I'm still enjoying the continuation of the group and can't wait to hear more about the main characters. I'm super confused about the Crazy 8's (which I'm sure is intentional) but I imagine that'll come out at some point.
