Very interesting, well-written book. It gives the reader an introduction to Latin America, and explicits complex relations between different factors. Also, it consists of a very enjoyable reading. If you want to learn more about the Latin American history and its repercussion to today, this is the book.

Certain bias is presented in some chapters, especially regarding the role of the United States in Latin America, minimizing is responsability in complex problematic such as drug trafficking and presenting in a mere benevolent role.
