What did Jesus Really Say?

Rate this book
The book contains detailed information and descriptions that show how the Bible was changed and tampered with over the past two millennia. The account and the discussions presented are based on, and collected from, the writings of Christian authors, the Church and the Bible. The book:

- Shows the historical sequence of who tampered and changed the Bible, why and how.

- Demonstrates how Prophet Jesus, alayhes sallam, never told in anyone in the Bible "worship me." or "I am a god."

- Demonstrates how the Bible to this day does not contain a single verse which claims that God is a "Trinity" or three-in-one.

- Shows how both the Old and New Testament repeatedly emphasized to mankind that God is ONE and commanded them to worship only one God.

- Shows how Jesus, alayhes sallam, repeatedly told mankind to worship "the Father" and to worship "the Father and son."

- Shows how Jesus' people repeatedly refer to him in the Bible as "A Prophet."

- Shows how Jesus and Moses, alayhemas sallam, both made many prophesies of the last messenger. These prophesies have been shown to be impossible to apply to anyone but him. There are over ten such detailed prophesies.

- Shows how the Dead Sea Scrolls which were recently discovered in Palestine in 1947 and which were written by the Jews who were waiting for the coming of Jesus, alayhes sallam, clearly state that they were not waiting for one, but two prophets. The first would be announced by an eschatological prophet (John the Baptist). This statement is repeated throughout the scrolls.

If you want the truth about Christianity you must read this book. This book also is an excellent dawah gift to Christians.

What an amazing book! I think every Christian should read it. Also, Muslims who are interested to know more about Christianity and all the contradictions in the bible should have a look at it. It's very easy to read.

GREAT book to show how the Bible leads us to know that Jesus did not preach what the churches preach today.

This book starts out well, with a challenging question. The author seems to have an open mind and a thirst for real dialogue. He draws on much of the best Christian scholarship to investigate what Jesus really said, as compared to what others later said about him. For the first third of the book I found it fascinating. I love this kind of grand detective game to discern the original face of a great religion.

Unfortunately ibn Abdullah slowly wanders beyond his leading topic. He goes into tremendous detail compiling the many contradictions between different parts or versions of the Bible. He makes comparisons to non-canonical writings or the Dead Sea Scrolls. The implication, it seems, is that the Bible is riddled with conflicts and errors. Then, rather than investigate the Bible any further, ibn Abdullah offers the Islamic scriptures as a flawless alternative.

For the last third of the book ibn Abdullah gives Islamic answers to biblical questions. He is informative so far as he goes. But here we find no critical inquiry into the evolution of Islamic teaching. We hear nothing of the historic controversies over which sayings attributed to the Prophet or which interpretations of the Quran are most authentic. If only ibn Abdullah could bring the same spirit of open inquiry to his own tradition that he brings to other peoples', he might get a real detective story going.

One of the boldest books I've read about this subject "the true teachings of Jesus P.B.U.H." It was both, enlightening and exciting. I recommend reading it along with Bart Ehrman's "Misquoting Jesus," for complete unbiased understanding.
