A tale of an ordinary life, destroyed in the same white-hot furnace of fire and metal that snatched away everything I ever wanted, that stole everyone I loved, that scorched my soul and then forged me into something new.
I am changed, alone, and in pain – with no friends, no allies, and no-one I can trust.
People call me Nick Tonner, but I don’t care much for names. Some might say I’m a hero. Some might say I’m no better than those I despise. Call me what you will, because it doesn’t matter to me.
I have nothing left to lose, and only one thing left to live for...
I want you.
Dead.

Hi, I'm Anthony - thanks very much for taking the time to check out this page.
A little bit about me: I was born in 1964 (though I try not to act my age), have always been an avid reader (enjoying many different genres and writers), I have two beautiful daughters (rapidly becoming young women) and live in the UK.
I enjoy visiting new places and meeting new people and have been fortunate (sometimes unfortunate) enough to have travelled to many different countries as part of my 'normal' work. When it comes to books, I'll read almost anything providing it catches my attention and there's some spark of original creativity on display.
Please feel free to contact or "friend" me, either here or via my Blog Site. It's great to hear back from readers or other fellow book-lovers.
It's good. Highly recommended. Dark and a tendency towards noirish details.
I'll write a proper review soon. It gets the Curmudgeon Star of Approval for artistry, creativity, inovativeness and even some wonderful heart racing action scenes.
it's deeper than most action/adventure books and in it's own way offers a challenge of morals while delivering the goods on kick-but action.
More later when I write a real review. (GOOD READ!)
"Thunder"--Anthony Bellaliegh's sophomore effort--avoids the cliches and pitfalls one would expect to find in an indie spy book, and instead, is a power-packed story that keeps you guessing to the very end.
Bellaleigh's prose and pacing gets your blood pumping while his lyrical style, that he can flex at will, can warm the heart. Here's an example: "She had bawled and screamed in chorus with all the other infants and together they had raised the roof. Until, that is, the moment the holy water touched her brow. Then she was silent. A little angel. And you and I took over from her, tears of joy and pride running unrestrained down our faces."
Although there are a few British words that might confuse those outside the UK (i.e., "torch" for flashlight; "boot" for car trunk, etc.) I found them enjoyable and felt they added authenticity to the tale. After all, James Bond was a Brit and would have used such a vocabulary!
So if you like the Jason Bourne series, or similar cloak & dagger books, then check out "Thunder."
“Thunder” was part of a group discussion through Goodreads.
This book was awesome! I don’t normally read action/adventure but I’m so glad I did. This book is so detailed and well written that I felt I was watching a movie in my mind. It was exciting, fast paced and very believable. The authors writing style did take some time to get used to. It is a mix between first person POV and third person, but once you get used to it, everything flows nicely together.
The story follows Nick, whose world is torn apart after the ones held most dear, are killed in a terrorist bombing attack. Nick is one of the only survivors, but it is a luxury Nick no longer wants. Thrown into a pit of despair and self-loathing Nick thinks of nothing but revenge and rejoining lost loved ones in the afterlife. With a death wish Nick embarks on a deadly journey which leads to a secret covert operation aimed at killing the ones responsible for the bombing.
This story kept me turning pages and I loved the surprises the author had hidden. The main character was very real and I found myself wondering what I would do if placed in that situation. As I said before the action scenes were amazing and I could tell a lot of thought went into each scene. If you are a fan of action/adventure novels then definitely give this one a chance. I’m glad I did. Great job Anthony!
This story grabs you with the first sentence, then explodes in nonstop action until the very end! I really enjoyed this book and recommend it as a great read!
If I could split the difference, I would give it 3.5 stars. I enjoyed Bellaleigh's book "Firebird" a bit more, despite the fact that the plot was far less plausible. I did enjoy this book, but it took some getting used to the style it was written in. It jumped around in perspective, from first to third, and included a lot of hallucination and flashback scenes that got confusing and distracting. I respect the hard work and effort Bellaleigh put in on this book, and I know what he was going for - a deeper connection to the protagonist; I just found some of it distracting and confusing. The "twist" toward the end seemed forced and unnecessary (and I did feel mislead to get there), but it did make for a nice happier ending. Overall, I'm glad I read it, and would read another novel form him without hesitation. Some gratuitous things within, but a decent read overall.
