How far would you go for the ones you love?

After struggling with the untimely death of his birth mother, Junior is desperate to know where his father is and why his mother stole him away in the dead of night almost six years before.

Ari, unable to live with her son's torment, embarks on a dangerous journey in search of Mack, an Irish MC one-percenter.

In her search for the truth, Ari never imagined that it would plunge her into a sinister world of terror and violence.

Mack, the founder of the Gray Wolves MC, has been searching for Junior with his best friend Dragon. He misses his son and wants to be a father again.

Ari battles her way through 21 clubs before arriving at Mack's door and Mack sees the damage the 21 club presidents have inflicted upon her. Swearing vengeance, Mack is determined to hurt all those who have hurt the woman he's falling in love with.

Will they put an end to their torture?

Or will the Mauler, Mack's mortal enemy, who is hell bent on revenge, triumph over their love for one another?

Teacher opening their home and every part of their being for a student. It is not too dark and nice overall with unique story that all the characters are well woven in.

Book: Number 21: Book one in the Cascade of Lies series

Author: RB Cariad

Review: A single mother has her life turned upside down after she adopted her son's best friend. Ari was living a happy and comfortable life, until she adopted Junior after the untimely death of his birth mother. Curious to know the truth of his birth, identity of his father, and the reason why his birth mother stole him away in the middle of the night six years ago, Junior struggles to adjust with his circumstances. Ari, who sees her adopted son's torment, gets plunged into a dark world of crime and violence, in order to find answers for her son. However, the biggest question that remains is how far would she go?

A very intriguing mystery that keeps on giving. The author has weaved a very intricate yarn of a plot with this is one, that will untangle in due time, but for now the mystery thickens with every turn of page. The more we know the deeper we get absorbed into this world that the author created.

A very indulging book that I am sure readers will have a great time reading. I enjoyed it a lot, as a fan of the mystery thriller genre, this book proved to pack a punch. I can't wait for the next books into the series and to see where the story will take me further.

ugh

This book was really not good. I didn’t jive with the writing at all. The writing was written in a way that made it disjointed and all over the place. You want to talk dysfunctional the characters in this book are toxic and just plain awful and not in the good way. Ari is a raging nut case, Mack is in love with two women but not in a why choose kind of way but a weird twisted dependently creepy way…..B is, god I don’t know what she is but I just didn’t like her at all. I didn’t like any of them. This was a really weird MC romance and I wish I hadn’t finished it but I was so hopeful it was going to get better and it just didn’t. Ever.

Ari, a single mother and head of the English Department at her son’s school, takes in her son’s friend when she finds out he is being neglected because his mother is addicted to drugs and helps his mother get into rehab. His father, Mack isn’t around because his mother left with him when he was younger. When Junior’s mom dies of a drug overdose, she begins the adoption process. While going through his mother’s things, Junior finds an old stuffed animal his dad gave him and some pictures. They show that he is part of an MC with a dog as the mascot but not the name. Ari promises she will find his father and after researching finds 21 clubs with a dog in the name or logo. She sets out to visit each one and is attacked and almost raped at many of them. She keeps going until she finds Mack at an MC retreat center he runs with a woman named B.

First let me say I loved the story. For example, I loved that a woman would take in a child who was in need, help his mother get into rehab, and want to help him find his father. I liked that some of the guys in Mack’s old MC helped him escape the President and were still willing to help him later on. It kept me engaged and I finished this book in a day because I had to find out what happens with his old MC. I am now invested in their story and can’t wait for the next one!

However, I had a love/hate relationship with the main characters Ari, B, and Mack. I felt that they were portrayed in a way that was unrealistic. An intelligent woman is not going to keep going to MC clubs alone when she has been beaten and assaulted at almost all of them. She might be naive enough to go to the first but would find another way after that to find his father. I felt Mack was too emotional about B and didn’t come off as a likable character at all. I thought that B was a little too much for me. She hates Ari once she gets with Mack, blames her for everything. I also wish that Ari and B would have gotten over their issues sooner.

In my opinion, the characters took away from a great story. Overall, if you are like me and able to get past the unrealistic aspects of the characters and get into the story line, you will enjoy this book and be waiting for the next one.

This is less of a review and more of a rant because I was so excited to discover this new-to-me author and new MC series, but was soon left very disappointed. The book began strong and seemed to have great potential, but the story quickly unravelled and became so ridiculous that it had me laughing during what should’ve been serious scenes. To make matters worse, the story was supposed to be set in North America (USA?) but many aspects sounded wrong, the main adult characters were all unlikeable and TSTL, and the plot deteriorated into absurd, almost telenovela-like territory.

If you want a story where the biker H has been deeply in love with his BFF for six years but was friend zoned from the very start, and an h who’ll forever be his second choice, then this is the book for you. I wasn’t convinced that the H wasn’t still in love with his perfect woman, aka his bff, aka “my dragon”, even if he supposedly declared his love for the h. And the fact that every character, apart from the h, was in awe of “the dragon” and practically worshipped the ground she walked on because she was the smartest/richest/most beautiful/most successful/most caring/toughest/most misunderstood woman in their bumfuck town, just made it all sound less like a gritty MC story and more like that of a weird af matriarchal cult where the leader has brainwashed all her witless, beta male disciples.

The premise is good. A teacher opens her heart and her home to a student in need who has become her son's best friend. Said teacher loves and treats "Junior" as her own. Junior's mom dies and while going through her things, they stumble across information related to Junior's father. With a small amount of information, a search for Junior's dad begins. For a relatively intelligent woman who has a big heart, the heroine in this story was just plain stupid. I stopped reading after chapters of her risking her life and not taking the proper steps to keep herself safe when entering into unknown and/or dangerous situations (around the 10th/11th time she sought out an unknown MC and I thought, "Nope, not going to last until 21!"). Innocent, naïve and wanting to help your adopted son is one thing, but intentionally putting yourself in harm's way over and over - nope. That doesn't even take into account Junior's father and his situation. Deleted the book off my Kindle and will file under do not finish.

What a fantastic beginning to the journey into The Gray Wolves MC and the Cascade of Lies series. Absolutely love B ❤️❤️❤️ she is one tough lady. Mack and Ari have skirted the truth with B and if she found out, we’ll who knows what would happen. It took me a bit to like Ari and I’m glad she managed to finally get on the good side of B. Cannot wait for the next book and see what eventuates after the joining of the newest Gray Wolves Chapter and their President Noah. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎
