This is one of the most important and revealing of all Civil War volumes. New material has been added to the 1915 edition, limited to 750 copies. Some of the letters broaden our view of Lee’s strategy and throw significant light on disputed movements, insights into Lee, and the way he treated his subordinates. A wonderful, important book.
