Remy returns to Bayou Mamabloa to protect Shelby and is shocked that she has no memory of him or the passionate night they spent in the midst of a raging storm. Remy by Elle James
Bayou Brotherhood Protector series #1. Spin off from other Brotherhood Protectors series and locations. Ex military romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone romance.
Remy is hired to set up the new Louisiana location of the protection agency Brotherhood Protectors. With perfect timing, he is available to go to the aid of Shelby Taylor, a sheriff’s deputy that has been hurt in the line of duty.
Remy and Shelby have known each other for a long time and only recently had a weekend of fun together. Remy will do whatever he needs to do In protecting Shelby because she may just be his future.

Fast moving suspense, action and catching the bad guys. With a little relationship building and steamy fun times along the way. Follows the basic format for all the various Protectors books, this one with the heroine also being law enforcement and helping push back the criminals from her small home town.
It’s always an adventure with these ex military men as they protect, serve, and find a love to last a lifetime.

REMY is Book 1 of Elle James' new Bayou Brotherhood Protectors Series.

Remy Montagne is one of the new Hires of Hank Patterson. Hank is, again, branching out to other Regions - this time Louisiana. And, who could be a better Choice to head this newest Venture than Remy, who was born in the small Louisiana Town of Bayou Mambaloa?

In typical Brotherhood Protectors fashion, the Story starts with a BANG! - not one, but two attempted murders on Sheriffs Deputy Shelby Taylor of Bayou Mambaloa.

(Remy and Shelby were both first introduced to Readers in "Storm on the Bayou" in the Silver Soldiers Anthology. For extra reading-enjoyment, grab this Story first.)

I can't wait to see, what kind of Dynamics this newest Group of Brotherhood Protectors will have.
REMY was a really great Start!

As usual this author doesn't disappoint. There's plenty of action and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat, especially in the bayou where alligators live. Read about Remi and Shelby and how they met. Excellent read. HEA.

I don’t know where to start with this.

Shelby Taylor is a deputy in a small Louisiana town. She sees something she shouldn’t and narrowly escapes. With part of her memory gone she has to figure out who she saw and why they still want her dead. Remy is an ex SEAL, he and Shelby knew each other as teenagers and had a night together when he visited town a month ago. He hasn’t stopped thinking about Shelby and plans to come back for her when he gets the call she needs protection. They work together to keep her and the town safe.

I am not a fan of the amnesia trope but Shelby’s amnesia was weirdly selective. She had all her other memories besides of the night she was attacked and Remy. Even as teenagers she forgot him but remembered EVERYTHING else from her past. Can amnesia just randomly erase all knowledge of only one person you have known for years?!??

Depsite this being a romantic suspense there was very little suspense. There was some action in the beginning when she was attacked, then the end. That’s it. There weren’t really any suspects til 70% in. I was bored. At one point in the middle it describes step for step how he was making gumbo. Then they look at two properties for him to buy for his businesses new location. I did not pick this up for recipes and real estate!

There was no spark or tension between Remy and Shelby. I didn’t understand why Remy wouldn’t remind Shelby of who he was and that they had spent a night together. She was frustrated that she couldn’t remember and him keeping this from her made no sense. Then when she found out she initially got angry. Rightfully so and I thought, finally some conflict, then she just immediately forgives him.

Even though I was just rage reading by the end I kinda sorta want to read the next one. Don’t ask me why.

Finally I will leave you with one of the cringiest pieces of dialogue I have ever read. Please enjoy.

“Play some sexy music.” The speaker came on with a soft, sensuous tune. Shelby moved toward Remy, her hips swaying to the beat. “Some people say dancing is making love to music.” Her hand came up to rest against his chest. “I say, making love is dancing to music.” She tipped her head back and stared into his eyes. “Let’s dance.”

The heart knows

Shelby and Remy. The first in a spin off series, the book sets the stage for the town and a few of the team with vivid detail. All other team members are mentioned, but not really part of the book until the end. The danger comes from a not surprising cast of characters as they are described in typical villainous personalities and demeanor. The romance had a fun little twist due to Shelby’s injury which led to more character moments and building.

I’ve been so excited for Remy’s story after getting a short peek at him in Silver Soldiers anthology.

Let me just say that it was so worth the wait!!! I adore Remy and Shelby! Nothing worth having comes easy, but it’ll be an amazing HEA if they can fight through the dangers coming their way.

Action, suspense, and amazing characters that will have you devouring this story!!

Highly recommended!

Get ready to start enjoying a new series from the Brotherhood Protectors. In the first book we meet a retired navy hero who came back to his hometown not only to set a new location for his boss Hank but he also wants to win the heart of Shelby, the girl who stole his heart after a one night stand. The new location is absolutely amazing, the main characters are very involved into one another. No matter where the story is set, the author’s writing fully captures the reader’s attention. Lots of suspense, action and lovemaking. A great read and a great new series.

I have often found that the first book in a new series can be kind of shaky. Not so with this one. Danger, action, suspense, romance, heat, and very little to no angst.

Remy started out full of action and suspense as Shelby wound her way through the waters of the bayou. The description of the locations, the environment, the heat all made me feel like I was there.

I was thrilled with the descriptions of the characters because it actually allowed me to picture them in my mind. Not to mention that the different personalities sounded intriguing. I felt the birthday party atmosphere just based on those descriptions.

I actually liked Remy and Shelby together. I also appreciated that Shelby knew she needed help. Although she was a deputy sheriff, was intelligent and self sufficient, she recognized and accepted her need for Remy's help. She didn't necessarily like it, but she took it. That in itself was worth 5 stars to me.

The only drawback for me was this book ended much too fast. I was glad Remy and Shelby got their HEA, but I wanted more. I guess I should be glad I got that nice little teaser to Gerard's story. Looking forward to it.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Remy has left the military and after a short vacation in his home town of Bayou Mamboloa, he has headed for Montana to meet with Harry Patterson, the founder of the Brotherhood Protectors. Remy has been recruited to set up and run a new section of the Brotherhood in Louisiana. He is given the chance to pick the place, find a place for the headquarters, find a place for the men to stay until they come up with other arrangements, and gather the men for the team. Just as the meeting of the team began to start, Remy gets a phone call. It is a girl he dated in high school. He had become reacquainted with her little sister when he was on vacation. Shelby had told her sister about Remy. Now that Shelby was in trouble, he was the only one her sister could think of to call for help.

When Remy was home, he had rented an old fishing camp on the bayou. One day, he had run into Shelby on the Bayou when a storm came up. They couldn't stay in the storm, so they went to the fishing camp for the night. Things quickly heated up and they had a romantic interlude. The next day, they parted ways. Remy went to Montana and the men. Shelby continued her work as a Sheriff's Deputy on the bayou.

Shelby was out on the water to see if she could locate drug smugglers and where they hid their stash. She was only to locate them and to make no contact. However, she was seen and chased by two men on an airboat. She had no chance and they slipped her boat and then pushed it into the water to sink it with Shelby under it. However, Shelby managed to survive and after they finally left, managed to crawl on the remaining bottom of the boat out of reach of alligators. A passing fisherman found her as he was going in for the night. In the hospital, when her sister left for the evening, someone tried to smother Shelby; but failed. That was when her sister called Remy as they needed protection for Shelby as well as someone to help them sit with her. Remy immediately set out to fly to Louisiana to be with Shelby. Here he found out she was unconscious and when she finally awoke, she could not remember anything about the accident or anything that happened 2-3 weeks prior to the accident. She only remembered Remy from the past.
She is determined to find out what happened to her and to regain her memory. She can't drive so needs Remy to help her. He wants to find the men who did this to her as well. Will she ever remember?

I don’t know what this was but I'll tell you what it wasn't. I did not enjoy this book at all.

I liked the premise of Shelby Taylor being a deputy of her hometown. She witnesses crates being loaded onto an airboat but doesn't recognize the craft yet this is a freaking small town and this was a BUSINESS that operates out of the area. Okay...

She manages to evade death but then passes out on the top of her damaged boat. Cartel people don't leave any witnesses.... They would have come back after her until they saw a body, just saying.

She is attacked in the hospital and her sister (who was Remy's high school girlfriend immediately thinks to call him). When she finally wakes up, she can't remember nearly to the day of the past month since she had her one-night stand with Remy but wierdly she also can't remember him from her childhood when he dated her sister and lived in their SMALL hometown. What the heck????!!

The action is all on the front side and we get little to nothing in the middle 2/3rds of this book. Slow drawn out and too easily solved crime. The investigation was so easy a child could figure it out. Then we get the final attack with exactly the ones we knew it would be, the wh**e/b****, the guy who had the porsche and was trying to buy the building Remy wanted.

And OMG, finding real estate is never that easy but hey let me show you two properties and they'll be exactly what you want. Why was this even included unless it was to add to the word count for her final product.

I had no connection to either character. I like Shelby at the beginning but that quickly waned as she was all "I don't need a man" spouting but she sure didn't fight off her attraction to Remy. The sex scenes we got were stilted and lackluster. They felt cold and clinical and most importantly I couldn't even figure out which POV I was getting. Twice we read about Remy climaxing but are told after the fact she did too. WTH!!

Every word could have been written by AI and likely would have been more spicy had it been. Just not impressed. I don't remember reading any of her other books but I think I'm good to go find another author and will take a pass on this one.

I can't say with hundred percent certainty that I haven't read Elle James before but if I have it was only one book a long time ago. The good news is that I have found her or tried her again. I started her with the Bayou Brotherhood Protectors series. Yes, it's the first book in the series but it isn't really the first series in the brotherhood series. Not to worry I am working my way through all her books.

Remy is the first of the series and starts off with him rushing to help a woman he's known for a long time but only just recently had a one-night stand with her. When she's attacked and someone is trying to killer her, he runs home to protect her bring along some friends to help and set up protection company branch of the business he works for.

Shelby is a kick butt woman who takes charge. After getting hurt she has to count on someone else to protect her and that doesn't sit right. She doesn't really remember what happened and doesn't know who to protect herself from.

I enjoyed how these two learned how to come together and work for what's needed. It takes a bit for Shelby to remember that she slept with Remy, but she does know she trust him to keep her safe. I love the action in the story and humor. I also like the other guys that work with Remy and look forward to their stories.

As time goes on, Hank Patterson’s Brotherhood Protectors business, that of protecting, rescue and extraction, continues to expand and this new series transports the readers from Montana to beautiful Louisiana and the Bayou Mambaloa.
After twenty years in the service, former Navy SEAL Remy Montagne, who was introduced in the Silver Soldiers book, is happy to not only be working for Hank but also to be assigned to start the new division of the Brotherhood Protectors in his hometown.
He also hopes that the woman with whom he had a one night stand (not according to him but to her)a month ago, gives them a chance to be more.
Imagine his surprise when he gets a call that deputy Shelby Taylor, the one he can’t forget, has been attacked, left for dead in the bayou and almost killed a second time in the hospital.
Hank immediately tells him and his co-worker their first assignment will be to protect her and her family.
Meanwhile , Shelby has no recollection of the time spent with Remy and is determined to find out who wants her killed and if in fact a cartel is trying to smuggle drugs into her hometown and beyond.
As these two work together, the attraction ignites. But will they survive the danger and find their HEA?
This story was a wonderful start for the new Brotherhood Protectors series. The plot was engaging and both the main characters and the “good” secondary ones were likable.
Looking forward to more stories in the bayou.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Wow, what a fantastic start to a series!! Shelby and Remy’s story was so compelling. It held me riveted from beginning to end.

Meeting back up with Hank, Swede and Sadie was such a treat!! I love that we can still keep up the the original group of Brotherhood Protectors. It’s like visiting old friends.

Remy is a larger than life character. He’s dedicated his life to protecting his country and now people who can’t always protect themselves. He is a strong alpha man but he also has a heart of gold.

He’s a badass when needed and soft and gentle when called for. He’s such an enigmatic character. Remy was made to love a woman as badass as Shelby. They are without a doubt a perfect match.

Shelby is a beautiful and strong character. She also dedicated her life to protecting the people of the town. I love how independent and driven she is.

Watching Remy and Shelby working together to find the evil that is hunting Shelby was compelling and addictive. They were totally in sync with each other as they worked the case.

Their chemistry is off the charts. The spark between them bright enough to light the darkest of night skies.

Elle James continues to excel in her limitless talent. This story is absolutely addictive. So heartwarming but also keeps you on the edge of your seat as the characters work to unravel the tangle of evil infiltrating their town.

Fantastic start to a new spin off series.
Can’t recommend highly enough

Remy and Shelby get a continuation from their story after their steamy night that was part of an anthology. Another branch of the BH gets new members in a new location near New Orleans in Bayou….which means another series of BH protectors….YES!!!
Remy is heading the new branch in Bayou and can’t wait to go back and convince Shelby, a deputy with the small sheriff’s office, to give them a chance at something more. Before he even packs and goes to find a location for the HQ, he gets a frantic call from Shelby’s sister letting him know she was attacked. No one and nothing is going to stop Remy from leaving ASAP to get to her side before another attempt is made. Luckily Hank is on board and will provide all the resources Remy needs to keep Shelby safe and hopefully he can convince the strong, independent Shelby to give them a chance at more.
I couldn’t stop reading, flipping the pages as the two try to figure out who tried to kill her. I loved Shelby, strong, independent and no drama. Remy, a fierce protector and I loved how he didn’t hide from his feelings and was all in. Another great addition to the BH protector series of books, as we are introduced to the new team members and I can’t wait for the rest of their stories.

Fun read. No drama

This is the first book in the Bayou Brotherhood Protectors series (say that fast!). Remy moves up to Montana to work with Hank Patterson. Hand and Swede are thinking they need a base of operation in the south. Not finding anything in New Orleans they decide on Remy’s hometown of Bayou Mambaloa. Remy was there just before heading to Montana and had a great one night stand with Shelby. Remy wants way more than the one night Shelby gave him.

Remy gets a call while in Montana from Chrissy, Shelby’s sister. She’s been attacked and left for dead out in the Bayou. Add someone tried to smother her while in the hospital. Hank declares this the first case for the Bayou Brotherhood Protectors. He and Gerard head south with their team to follow.

Shelby has amnesia from the last month. Which includes their night together. She remembers Remy as he dated her sister in high school. When Shelby is released from the hospital Remy sticks to her like glue. Shelby not up to full speed works w Remy to figure out what happened to her. Shelby works for the sheriffs department and was on a boat looking for drug runners. Is that what this is about?

These two had great chemistry and worked well together to solve this mystery as Remy rents some buildings for his new operation. This was a quick fun read, no drama.

The bayou. What a fun and mysterious setting for this story to take place. The heroine Shelby is a deputy in small town Bayou Mambakoa who is attacked and almost killed while on the job- twice. When Remy, an ex-seal who is opening the new branch of the Brotherhood Protectors in town hears she has been attacked, he immediately goes to her aid (they had a brief fling when he last was in town). But she has amnesia due to her injury and doesn't remember who the bad guys are or even who Remy is (relationship wise) to her. Now he has to protect the woman he cares for while trying to keep her safe from some of the cartel related baddies out to kill her. It's a race against time with Remy hoping her memories of them-and the bad guys she needs to be able to ID- come back. Slow simmering romance story meets small town "bayou" mystery turned deadly in "Remy" by Elle James. The story is a tad predictable -not in a bad way- but the characters are fun and just lovable to me, especially our hero. And as Shelby says: "Having Remy around had its.. perks." Little does she remember yet:-) An easy read with a cute HEA in the newest book in the Brotherhood Protectors series! I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.

Where to begin......

This was my first book reading this author and I had to force myself to finish it. The writing is okay, but almost too clinical, if that makes sense. It came across as too wordy. The dialogue was very stilted and did not flow naturally - again, too wordy in it's attempt to be perfect or to cover every single nuance of every interaction.

There was minimal to no angst. The MC's confessing their love for each other did not sound authentic. The one steamy scene was not steamy, and the ending was tied together clinically (that word again). There was no shock factor or big reveal.

There was zero character development, and the main villain was an unknown entity that only appeared in the book one time prior to being "unmasked".

I wanted to like this book as I love military romances and am looking for new authors in this genre (since I have exhausted the usual suspects). Unfortunately, this book did not do it for me, though it might for someone else, but I am used to fully fledged characters, great suspense, proper alpha heroes, and great chemistry between the main characters. This book unfortunately fell short of my expectations, and I will not be reading other books from this author.

Remy is Sexy looking

And has a unique sense of humor. He likes Shelby though! And she is the target of a cartel, she caught The side of movement off to the side as she passed a cove in the bayou, but before she could get away they came after her in the airboat. Her little skiff couldn't go fast enough they rammed her knocked her boat clear up in the air and her with it she hit the water first, the black Murky water disorientated her at first but as she came up to the surface the boat came back down and smacked her in the head. She lost her bearings when it blocked her out a little bit she came up again and hit the boat again she was needing air but heard the boat coming back and they were trying to ram it and sink it but it didn't work. They came after her several times trying to run her over with the boat. When they finally left she crawled up on top of the hull of Hull of her overturned skiff and passed out. She was in a coma and yet the cartel wanted to make sure she was dead. Remy came to town, coming home to where he was born and raised. And we investigation took off trying to find out who was trying to kill her. And it took good twist! I never figured it out before the very end so this was very well written. And that's why I gave it five stars

What a wonderful start to a new series and a new branch of the Brotherhood Protectors though to be totally honest we do first connect with these characters in Storm in the Bayou in the silver soldiers anthology so do yourself a favour and grab that first.

Remy is going to be the lead fir Hank's latest offering in his brotherhood Protectors and he is setting up in Louisiana and after all he is perfect for it as comes from the small town of Bayou Mambaloa and as Remy told Hank it is a perfect base for them close to New Orleans but far enough away to avoid the traffic and congestion Another factor for him is that is also where Deputy Sheriff Shelby Taylor is based Remy heads down earlier than his team when he is called in to protect Shelby who after been almost killed in the swamp after seeing something she shouldn't is then attacked in the hospital The only thing is that Shelby has amnesia and can't remember anything from the last month including the passionate night she spent with Remy Will she get her memory back can they build a future together You will have to read to see and them wait fir the stories of the other men sent to the bayou and about to meet their futures

Brotherhood Protectors head to the Bayou

Remy Montagne, retired Navy Seal, works for Hank Patterson’s Brotherhood Protectors in Montana. Hank is opening another Brotherhood Protectors location in the south. Remy is in charge of the new location in Bayou Mambaloa, his hometown. When he was last home for a visit he hooked up with Shelby Taylor, a local woman.

Sheriff’s Deputy Shelby Taylor, while looking for drug runners, is attacked by unknown persons and left for dead in the bayou. Her sister, Chrissy, Remy’s old high school girlfriend, calls Remy to help protect Shelby. It appears while still in the hospital in a coma, Shelby was attacked and almost killed. Remy tells Chrissy he will protect Shelby. When Shelby finally wakes up she does not remember what happened nor does she remember the time she spent with Remy. How long will her memory issues last? Will she recover her memories in time to help with the case?

Remy locates a building for sale that is in a great location for the Brotherhood Protectors. There is someone else looking at the property which has access to a waterway. Who else wants the property and what do they want to use it for?

Remy and Shelby run into trouble trying to find out who is out to kill her. Their relationship starts to grow during this time. Who is after Shelby? What does she know? Will their relationship survive?

I love all of Hank Patterson’s Brotherhood Protectors books. Remy is the first book in the Bayou Brotherhood Protectors series. It has action, drama, suspense, romance and plenty of those twists and turns you expect in a book. Looking forward to the next book.

As a suspenseful romance, this story misses the mark. As a general small town romance, this rates a little better. Elle James has written much better series than this.

The romance aspect of this story is ok. There's a lot of talk about a previous sexual encounter between the two leads, but no details or replay. When they finally do get together, it's very late in the book. There's too much expository info and drag before the leads get down to business, then the "mystery" is suddenly solved in just a page or two. The pacing template is off, and you'll notice the rest of this series operates the same way.

And for a small town, there's a lot of grisly murder going on. It reminds me of that PBS show where they solve murders on the vacation island (Death in Paradise?). Why would anyone vacation there? Same with this supposedly close and wonderful small town. I wouldn't move there. Just sayin.

This story/author is not for me. It started out okay, but by the time I finished it, I knew I wouldn't be reading another book from this author.

I found the heroine annoying, with her "I don't need a man. I don't need anyone" shtick that was overused (and not really true). I found her amnesia rather convenient, since the only thing she couldn't remember were the attack that gave her the amnesia & Remy. I found the side characters and dialogue felt inorganic and forced most of the time. I found that a lot of the side characters were more over-the-top caricatures then genuine representations of real people (the OTT catty cousin Lissette a perfect example). And the story itself was predictable and boring. There was some action at the beginning (which was fairly exciting) and then some at the end (which was just ridiculous), but not much in the middle. I pretty much made myself finish, but I wasn't really invested in how it ended.

This story has suspense, action, and some heat.
Remy Montagne is one of Hank Patterson's newest Brotherhood Protectors. While discussing where the new branch should be located, Remy suggested his hometown of Bayou Mambaloa. He longs for home and wants to spend more time with a certain Deputy. When he returns to Bayou Mambaloa to look for locations he finds that Deputy Shelby Taylor has become the victim of an attempted murder. Doing what the Brotherhood Protectors do best, Remy sets out to find out what is happening in his hometown.
The suspense starts on the first pages holding your attention. The attraction between these two is high and the heat gets turned up along the way. Once they figure out what is happening the takedown wraps up pretty quickly.
I enjoyed this first book in the new Bayou Brotherhood Protectors.

I received a free copy of the steamy romantic suspense Remy: Bayou Brotherhood Protectors: Book One by Elle James and this review was given freely.
This action and drama-packed first sequel contains a fast-paced romance, some off-color humor, and a good introduction to the new Bayou Brotherhood Protectors and the small-town Bayou Mambaloa’s residents while providing insight into the Bayou culture.

One month after newly hired Montana Brotherhood Protector, recently retired Navy SEAL Remy Montagne and Deputy Shelby Taylor share an unforgettable one-night stand, new Louisiana branch manager Remy rushes back to his hometown to protect the woman he realizes he loves and nearly lost, the battered and amnesiac Shelby, and to scout locations for the new branch office.
Contains some violence. 18+ for steamy scenes.

Remy used to live in the small bayou town before he went in the navy. He came back to town 20 years later before going to Montana to be trained for the Bayou Brotherhood Protectors. I am sure Deputy Shelby Taylor was glad he was renting a fish cabin on the bayou when a horrible storm came up and she was able to take shelter in the cabin with Remy who she had a crush on since high school. Remy lefty for Montana planning to look Shelby up when he came back to open an office in their small town. I would have been so scared out on the bayou looking for drug dealers if I were Shelby. The scene of someone trying to kill her had me on the edge of my seat. Shelby’s sister called Remy to tell him what happened and asked him to come back and protect Shelby. This book really had some suspenseful scenes as well as romance. I encourage you to read the book.

Protecting Shelby

First book in a new series, it links to many others with Hank Patterson and his wife sadie, Hank runs the brotherhood protectors, Ex military himself he recruits only military honourable men, sets up in team of 10 all over the world in local buildings to help close by.
This time hank recruits Remy to lead a team in his home town, we do not get to see the team much in this one only one goes with Remy to set up find a building etc. Oh and help him with his love interest.
Looks like Gerard is next book.
I enjoyed this but it was more like a team of two, Gerard was sent to look after someone so was not around and Swede and hank was phone call Tec support (and not part of the team of 10) so it was just the two love interests (yes she is a trained duty sheriff but still)

Remy is the leader of The Bayou Brotherhood Protectors.
Shelby is a deputy in Bayou Mambaloa.

Remy and Shelby know each other along time. Remy is a sexy, alpha protective male and Shelby is an independent sexy female.
In their town of Bayou Mambaloa their are criminals that Shelby wants to protect her town, but figures out what is going on with drug smugglers. She is left for
dead, was found by a fisherman friend.
Shelby has a target on her back. Shelby’s sister calls Remy for help and The Brotherhood Protectors are now on the case. An Remy and his team protect her
and have a Happily Ever After.

This book has suspense, intrigue, twists, turns, drama and emotions.

Great Job Elle James !!!!

When Remy has the opportunity to return to New Orleans as a member of the Brotherhood Protectors, he is all in as it will give him a chance to pursue a relationship with Shelby who he has known for years. A disturbing call puts a pall on his return as not only has she been attacked but she is experiencing amnesia as well.

Shelby is a Sheriff’s deputy who barely escaped with her life and her memory loss not only includes Remy but also who is responsible. They find themselves in a race against time as the threat to Shelby is far from over and the next attempt could be successful.

This story had an interesting twist with Shelby’s memory loss which not only makes the situation they find themselves in and their romance more challenging as they take us on quite the adventure.

🛥️🚤Apparently I don't like this author's characters cause the hs always has zero self respect for themselves. And this one starts just like those books. But we'll see after the amnesia.

🛥️🚤Oh my god ok!!! Remy and Shelby's sister was s solid thing back thn. #Awkwarddd

🛥️🚤How can I ship them if Remy's nickname for her is "squirt" like a kid?

🛥️🚤Who acts this perky after a life threatening accident?

🛥️🚤Didn't we learn in first chapter that Shelby's father is decentz who took them fishing and all? Now in chapter 5 she's recounting him as a cheating asshole.

🛥️🚤Shelby knew Remy since teenage years long before they hooked up months ago. So if her memory is erased by a month, she still should have recognize him.

🛥️🚤Meh

I just started reading Elle James and I throughly have enjoyed her books. She writes a good mystery, suspense, and romance with alpha males and stong independent woman. This is the start of her new series and a continuation of the Brotherhood Protectors. Remy a Navy SEAL who has retired after 20 years takes on a new job and is heading up the new division in his hometown town in the Bayou. He is to find new headquarters and living arrangements for the new team of 10. His first assignment is to protect Shelby a deputy in the small town who has been attacked in the Bayou and left for dead after seeing what looks like drugs being off loaded there. This is a standalone book with an HEA and her books do not need to be read in order.
