Redemption: The Chronicles of the Manaar

Rate this book
The redemption of the Erimocan Manaar had been incomplete. They had sought vindication, from any connections they had to The Reaping, through the eradication of the evil that they had failed to contain. But the true redemption of the Erimocans would never exist without a return to balance. The Immersion at the Windbeck County Fair was only the beginning of a struggle for that balance.
Mik has led his friends to The Choke. A desolate hell where the undead of Ganepa have congregated to unleash a war against the living. The young manaar seek to cross this canyon to discover if the knowledge found in The Erimocan Library can help them survive. It was that which was learned outside of scrolls and leaflets, by The Village Immersed, that would set their direction and balance the odds.

Book two of The Chronicles of the Manaar is intense! More is revealed about the history of the evil that the manaar face. The action heats up with gripping descriptions of epic battle scenes and I love the new characters introduced as more survivors are found.

L. R. Maley has created a great adventure tale in the spirit of the Lord of the Rings.
I appreciate that the females have equal importance in the story as well as their talents and powers.
Excellent detail has been created to describe the many characters, their backstory, languages, etc...
There is plenty of action and suspense so the story keeps moving.
The witches and creatures are nice and scary!
I am looking forward to the next installment.

I loved that the first book really set the stage for the world of the Immersed, their backgrounds, personalities, trials and perseverance in doing good, family involvement & true friendship. With that said, the growth, maturity, connections made and built, and emotional relations only made this so much better! I liked that each character was coming into their own, with and without each other, relatable situations made it easy to connect with each character and I'll say it again, never lacking in the right amount of detail to make you feel like you're there! With more twists and turns, more shocking revelations, and more action, this book was full of breath holding, page turning moments that had me on the edge of my seat. I love the story telling narration, the character dynamics and the consistency and strength their character shows! Can't wait to see how this wraps up!!

"I'm currently reviewing 'Redemption,' the second book of the Chronicles series. It's a tale of magic and the impending war against formidable beings. In this installment, the young protagonists find themselves thrust into battle alongside other humans and beings. The narrative delves deeper into the world of witches, enriching the story. The narrator's consistency is commendable; their delivery adds to the book's appeal. If you enjoy immersive fantasy, this book is a must-read. While the story progresses, we experience the heartache of losing some beloved characters, adding emotional depth to the narrative."
