Small homes continue to be a best-selling topic for a number of reasons including smaller family sizes, smaller available building lots, and the desire to use fewer natural resources. But the biggest factor may be simple economics. Many people found themselves in houses much larger than they needed with mortgages they couldn’t afford and then the value of those homes tanked. Those hard lessons have led to a reluctance to return to the old ways of big homes and even bigger mortgages. I like how this book has lists of specifics for making small spaces shine. The photos are beautiful and I like how there are floor plans for a lot of the houses. My main complaint is that I don't think these houses are affordable.

Enjoyable book loaded with beautiful, color photographs of small cottages and cabins. Includes floor space plans. Some are second homes/getaways & others for downsizers.
