this is an amazing book!! it teaches you what to do if you are being bullied! and what to do to change the bully to be a nice person!! it tells us the story of a girl that was being bullied from another girl and at the end they became best friends!! :)
This was a surprising story! I really, really liked how the issue of a bully in the classroom was dealt with in such a realistic way. Sometimes we have to try and get along with others, work in a group, or sit beside someone, who we don't get along with. Our main character is struggling with a bully in the class- but once she gets to know her better, realizes that there's more to her.
I like how the ending is not some "happy perfect ending"- and that we can tolerate and be kind to others, but it doesn't mean we will become best friends with them!
Great little story, great Canadian Indigenous content and culture, and great themes and resolution! Well done :)
Since I needed to relax my brain a bit and since I am doing poems about bullying I read a easy book called How To Tame a Bully by Nancy Wilcox Richards. Although it is a easy book the meaning behind this book is beautiful. To stand up for yourself and that bullies can become friends. Anyway, the story has a little girl named Lauren and everything is going well for her. She has her favorite teacher and her best friend, but she gets sat next to a big bully named Bethany. Lauren had a little hope that Bethany wouldn't bother her but instead she called Lauren lots of names which made fun of her. She figures out how to "tame" Bethany and maybe become friends. I really enjoyed this book even though it was small and it really shows you what bullies can do to people.
found this in the childrens section and it's really short but, i want to read this.
This book was remarkably good, for a 80paged children's book. The story was follwing third graders, but it wans't that hard to realate to them. I encourage anyone to read it, for a light read. (I finishes it in one reading) :)
Great book for younger students to read because of the easy text and short chapters. If I didn't know better I would say that a kid had written this book, because the text sounds like it and I think that kids would relate to the story well. A good book for pointing out how kids should speak up for themselves and not put up with bullying. Recommend it!
it is an amazing book. it teaches u what to do if u are being bullied. it is about a girl who was bullied but then became friends with the bully and taught her a lesson.
Very nice story!! very good moral ! I actually learned from it a lot! its about a bullied girl that makes her bullier cry at the ned! That was the most amazing part of the story!
i thought this book was a really interesting book and that hopefully bullies will read this and think that thats how theyshould change and thats what they should do
