Blurb: You wanted The Devil. Willow is my life. My world. My only reason to live. With her life in danger, no one is safe from my wrath. You begged for this war, and I'll make sure you get exactly what you asked for.
I thought it would be your average spicy book, but you'll find a thrilling and twisted story behind it. The mental issues with the MMC are deep. I could feel the MC'S pain and suffering reflected in the written words. The MC is dark, bad boy, and mysterious. He is possessive over the FC, but who doesn't love a possessive MC?
This was a great story to go along with the spice. A must read if you like spice and bad-boy tropes.
I enjoyed giving this a read. Although it wasn’t an absolute favorite of mine personally I do feel like a lot of people would really enjoy this. My man started morally grey and turned morally black by the end!
The relationship between the main characters is a crazy toxic one but I enjoyed that about them. It’s different than a lot of books out there and this author is GREAT with the twists and turns in her story! Pure CHAOS!
There are multiple POV in this book and I really liked that. I know some people don’t, but I feel like it gives a better glimpse into some of the characters. ESPECIALLY the dad in this case.
This was a dark and twisted story. A quick read that had me hooked from the beginning. The MMC has a lot of issues, and unlike The Fool, you get a better understanding of why he is the way he is. Although both books don't have to be read together, I feel like it makes the story more interesting when you read both.
The writing style was great, and I loved the twists the author threw in there. If you like your men tall, dark, handsome, and morally grey, then this is a book for you.
ARC review. I’ve rewritten the beginning of this review probably 20 times. This book is like nothing I’ve read before. Heed the trigger warnings! It had 3 twists that I never saw coming. The mental issues of MMC? They run deep. The depravity? Again. Deep. And I don’t mean this negatively at all. The book is a little wordy/repetitive with the she doesn’t deserve this type stuff but overlooking that it’s nicely written.
3.5 stars. I’m not 100% sure how I feel about this book. The MMC has mental issues and you get a peak into why that is. I felt no connection with Willow (the first female character). She seemed immature and annoying. I feel like some of the writing was a little repetitive. I think it does have good bones. Not every book is for everyone and this one was just not for me. Do make sure to check your triggers. I did receive an advanced copy of this book.
Although this is a stand-alone the story extends to the author's first book, The Fool. Reading both really puts the whole plot into perspective. Yeah, it was dark, but that's why the trigger warnings are there. I honestly fell in love with Victor. He is bad... Twisted and a sick bastard... But he is what his father made him and I just freaking love him. 🥰 I would love to see where the author takes Victor’s story, but I'm sure it will be dark he is the devil after all 😉.
I'm loving this plot and these main characters. The world building is great. Other than the repetitive sentences/scenes (trying to search for the right words) this was a great read. I do think more time was needed and maybe some beta readers. Usually I don't comment on the writing but would hate to see this fail because of the writing. I'd be willing to put this as a re-read.
I really wanted to like a lot more than I did. Willow was overall just really immature and annoying and it brought the whole story down for me. Other than Willow it's an absolute love.
